Rule of Thumb: if they have signs with pictures of the food, don't eat there

Not a restaurant rec but the Dow Jones bar is pretty fun-- drink prices go up and down like the stock market and if they have a lull in people buying drinks they'll have a "crash" and everyone runs to the bar to get in on the cheap prices haha
EY1 gets it. Also, make sure to hit Can Paixano in the Barceloneta area. 6 euros for a bottle of decent champagne along with your choice of one of their excellent tapas.
There's this paella cooking class you can do for about $20 and it was honestly my best meal experience there
Huge foodie as well, honestly I ate four times at cerveceria over the course of three days. I ate 5 meals a day however. Embrace the ciesta lifestyle or you'll be crushed. Be prepared for traffic and hour long waits at your fav restaurants at midnight
Sister restaurant not quite as awesome, but still incredible: Ciudad Condal

Clothing is optional at their beaches, MOST of the women wear bottoms, 70-80% of local women, regardless of their age do NOT wear tops. Be prepared. Most tourists do NOT partake, do not feel pressured. Steer clear of the Indian guys offering drinks on the beach or any of their wears they sell.
Momo. 100% best and coolest restaurant. I recommend not doing paella bc it's not barcelonian and people will judge you/think you're a tourist
Wow, thanks for all the recs! Can't wait to try!!
Yeah nomad coffee for superb lattes, can paixano for lunch, then swim, then bitácora (best tortilla/omlette ever), then gothic quarter gelato, ciutat comtal for dinner instagram.com/p/3FawxRFK2p/
Ramen-ya hiro is authentic and quite good too if you need a break near the sagrada familia - get the miso ramen, not the shoyu.
For a whole in the wall type of place, I agree with Deloitte 1, can paixano tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187497-d940427-Reviews-Can_Paixano_La_Xampanyeria-Barcelona_Catalonia.html
For a more upscale, modern tapas place, try Saboc (about 70 euro dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine)
Bo de B, flax&kale
La Flauta for a selection of all the best authentic Spanish tapas and amazing cava sangria; also you can't miss brunch and cake! Go to the one further north of the city center to avoid the tourist crowd; for paella negra (highly recommend) go to o toxo tres hermanos, it's a locals favorite; finally you gotta have some churros con chocolate at grand pallaresa
La Paradeta. Freshest fish I have ever had. No reservations/long line/casual but worth the wait (or early lunch or dinner)
Commerc24 for chef tasting menu. Get the wine pairing too. Did this with friends for my birthday- it was excellent Also I second the Condal recommendation
Bo de B
Bar del pla- make a reservation. Also CALLE BLAI- whole avenue of $1tapas
