That actually sounds like a good time of year? Unless it’s literally over thanksgiving. If budget isn’t a huge issue personally I love staying directly on the monorail in the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. But those resorts are more money for sure.

We went the second week of November and loved it. There is actually a thread in this bowl on Disney with great advice. I’ll link it.
I’ve always wanted to go in November, I’ve only been in April, May & June.
Booking a Disney hotel has its perks. Grand Floridian is on the monorail, and you can also take a boat or walk to magic kingdom. Room service is great at Grand Floridian compared to the value resorts as they just offer pizza.
Sometimes dining at the hotels is cheaper and much better than the park restaurants. Check out Disney Food Blog. Don’t plan everything but maybe keep a list of what places look good to eat and where. Unless you want character dining and be sure to book that ahead!
Download the apps on everyone’s phones and make profiles so you can see wait times etc. plan which parks which days. Different parks have different opening and closing hours. Also different character meet & greets at different parks so make sure you know everyone’s favourites and where to look for them!
If you need to be anywhere in a hurry book the Minnie van as the service has just come back recently. Drivers are wonderful and knowledgeable. Homecoming restaurant in Disney springs is amazing and we never would’ve went without the suggestion from our driver.
Have fun!
Polynesian is the best, best pool for kids and as others mentioned, on the monorail. If you’re at a network agency, you could get a discount too, I’d check before you book.
There are Facebook groups where moms have fanatically built out Disney itineraries and I’m not gonna lie, they are awesome.
Agree with above, except over thanksgiving, that’s a good time to go and it won’t be as hot as the summer.
Hire a Disney planner. We used Middle of the Magic travel. It’s no extra cost to you, they get paid by Disney and universal. They know all the tips and tricks

November is generally a great time to go as long as its not Turkey Day weekend. Also, November is great for being in the park at night because it arrives earlier.
If you want to gamble on the weather, Animal Kingdom Lodge has the best pool in the park IMHO. Made to look like a watering hole its a great place to relax on an out of park day. Also, swim up bar.
Our best trip was one with multiple out of park days. My favorite:
- Arrival day - out of park
- Park days 1&2
- Out of Park day
- Park days 3 &4
- Out of Park day
- Park Day 5
- Depart
If your budget supports it, adding one more in park day on a 5 day Park Hopper is really awesome. Out of park days just hanging at the pool are just the best and recharge you for the next run at rides.
Think of your budget. Double it. If you dont spend that much its all good. Eating in park/in hotel is expensive but not that expensive. You are on vacation. How much is your time worth on vacation? Eating at the hotel meant going from our room to our meal in 5 minutes instead of an hour. Two hours of vacation time is worth a whole lot more than what ever one meal cost. Same thing with eating in the park. Yeah you are paying park prices but you also dont have to leave the park. You can have your in park souvenir purchases delivered to your hotel. Its an awesome service and prevents losing that just purchased Mickey on the next ride. Yes its designed to get you to spend more but that doesnt mean you have to.
Assuming you have kids - I highly recommend at least one character meal. Again, they are not cheap but our character breakfast is one of the best memories we have. They really go all out for these and they are so much fun.

Tips from someone who live in Orlando:
- Just because it’s November don’t expect it to be cold. This is a swamp and while it gets cool, you’ll be outside in the sun. Bring a light jacket/hoodie but you be fine in shorts and comfortable shoes
- Everyone needs their own camelback filled with water. Water is expensive to buy in the parks, and you need more water than you think to stay hydrated. Also, yes you can bring a filled camelback into the park.
- Bring spray sunscreen and a hat. The sun is not your friend.
- Don’t try to do a rope drop to fire works and plan to have every second filled with activities especially if you have small kids. That’s a long day and it’s a guaranteed melt down…for everyone.
- The magic kingdom really needs two days to get through it. The park is huge.
