Depends on the company and the position honestly. All accounting and finance positions are pretty cyclical. Accounting jobs get busy for every month-end close process, finance jobs like FP&A or financial reporting/compliance get busy around the quarters mostly if you are working for a larger organization or public company. Tax seems to be always busy. Busy in industry though is generally not the same as busy in public accounting. Obvi there are exceptions. Even when I'm busy I still rarely work more than 40 hours.
