Can’t decide on a job offer. Currently employed and have been wanting to do something different. The other job offer is pretty much what I make now but I’d be losing on a lot of PTO. I kind of feel really confused about what to do. The hiring manager actually picked up on the fact that I don’t sound super excited for the job. But I feel like this is my chance to leave and do something different but I’m hung up on barely any PTO and swapping to a complete different industry.

I am a new grad that started working as a supply chain coordinator this month. Is supply chain a good field to be in? What industries do you recommend and how can I grow fast?

Currently 125 with pretty poor benies.

I’m a lawyer based in Europe. I’m lateraling to a firm in a new jurisdiction on Monday and negotiated a decent pay increase a few months ago (new jurisdiction has significantly higher income taxes so negotiated based on a comparable net pay). My old firm has just announced it is increasing salaries by around 15% which will almost negate what I negotiated at new firm. New firm doesn’t review salaries till September. Did any one else’s firm just not engage with them during the majority of the WFH period? While when the lock down first happened we had a few zoom get togethers, they quickly disappeared. I’m only a first year and while my practice group ended up being pretty busy I had been hoping for more engagement from partners/senior associates. While I would set up calls and they would say yes, I can’t help but feel ignored by the lack of outreach. Am I asking too much to expect at least a monthly checkin

People who live on one coast but have most of your friends and family on the other coast: how do you deal with traveling for weekend events? Is it just redeye city or do you find that people understand if you need to fly during work hours?

How do you all take care of things outside of work? Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. Need to stay in BL for at least another year for the money, but eventually want to move in-house. The path to in-house seems more straightforward for general commercial lit or more standard transactional practices.
