Puerto Rico. Island has recovered well, tourists areas are in great shape. Enjoy the beautiful Christmas traditions and join the people as they dive into the ocean on New Year’s Eve

Thanks C1. Been to PR twice and love the place. Hoping to visit a new location

I’ve loved Aruba and Turks and Caicos

OP if you love PR, consider going again and contributing tourist dollars.

And if you need a 2nd reason: coquito!

Antigua is amazing. Stunning beaches

In 2023 I'm wanting to help make my management more effective. So, I'm looking for a book or a couple of books to gift my team this holiday season. I would like books that focus on communication and taking ownership. Any recommendations?

Is it weird to give a staffing coordinator (more a messenger)/group admin person a holiday gift card? I won’t be in the office anymore so it’s easiest option but open to other ideas.

Does it look bad if you don't go to the firm holiday party? I feel like it'll be so big no one will even miss me, and it's not mandatory, but I'm also new-ish and a junior so I don't want to look like I'm not a team player. To be honest I'm a newlywed (Nov 30th) and just want to spend every night in bed with my wife! But I obviously can't tell them that.

startup Gig Alert: I am looking for a brand designer to join our startup team at Lifelines (truly a startup and we’re not in stores yet). We’re a product company set for revolutionizing how people approach sensorial wellness and I’m looking for someone with holistic experience in branding / art direction with a clear, bold visual style. Around 5 years of experience preferred. But work and personality trump years in experience. Always remote+unlimited PTO. Send me books / portfolios.

Asking for some advice on an offer received… my current company base gives me 112k, 9 holidays, 20 pto days, 6% match on 401k and employee share purchase plan, individual bonus up to 8.5%. The new offer received is as follows: 110k base, 11 holidays, unlimited pto days, 25k in RSUs vested 100% after 4 years, no 401k match, annual performance bonus up to 7.5% with possibility to exceed it, basic medical, dental, vision plan covered by company. Thoughts on if the external offer sounds competitive?

Any United health group remote employees here? I recently accepted an accounting job and some of the onboard makes it seem like I’m only allowed to work from my home office. I usually spend a few weeks a year out of town visiting family and work during this time so I don’t have to use PTO but I’m nervous I won’t be allowed to do that anymore

Is it okay to take time off during 2 weeks notice period? Thanks

Hey habibis expats! The market in Dubai is obscure when it comes to compensation and benefits. I suggest we add clarity by posting salaries, role/position and years of experience here and anything else you want to add such as benefits. I’ll start:

- Industry: tech
- Role: finance manager
- YOE: 5 years
- Comp: 270k aed/year + 5% bonus
- Other benefits: work from Europe/US 1 month/year, 30 vacation days

Just got acquired and was curious what everyone had for PTO packages and whether this is standard for a defense company. 0-3 years 20 days 4-5 years is 22 days and 6-7 is 25. 5 weeks off after 6-7 years doesn’t sound the best to me from previous jobs I’ve worked in the past but wanted opinions?

How many PTO/personal days do we get when we become managers?

I’m a mental health counselor with a masters, 10 years direct experience, no license, earning 45,000 a year and 17 days PTO ( no additional holidays) in NE PA. I think it’s low.

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.
Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes

Took a Controller position a year ago at a PE-acquired Manufacturing Company after 7 years of PA. No support staff. Making $76k. 2021's merit increase offering was $2k. The YE Bonus ended up as $1,200(Insulting, especially for accomplishments achieved this past year alone).

Given my position and knowledge of future increases budgeted (another insulting $2k increase), how do I bring up the issue of severely being underpaid, when Robert Half Salary guide says median salary in my area is 125K.
