“A person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”
Encourage the know-it-alls on this thread to commit that to memory. Or don’t - the choice is yours…

With you? No, I trust that you already know everything.
By the way, how’s the slideshow coming along?
My name is 3 letters long. And somehow people still misspell it.

Get over yourself.
I mean don’t get me wrong, it would be great if everyone got it right 100% of the time, but I have a better chance at changing myself and how I respond to things I don’t like vs. changing every single person I meet that spells my name wrong. You do you though
So for everyone telling OP to chill I’ll just say that it’s just a matter of common courtesy to spell and pronounce people’s name right. If it’s hard to pronounce, then do the courteous thing and ask them to say it out loud for you, repeat it back to them to make sure you heard it right and then commit it to your memory. To me it’s lazy and disrespectful to say it wrong once you have heard the way the person says it is pronounced. Spelling it correctly is a no-brainer, especially when it’s right in front of you on the original email.
Ok, Deloite

Sounds like Karen, but spelled Caren
I have an extremely common and easy name, and spelling variations for it are rare. People still spell it wrong all the time. The same typo error over and over that everyone is too lazy to correct or notice. I’m nice about it but it drives me up the fking wall. Think spelling Danielle as “Daneille.”

If you’re in Utah, the latter is correct.

Ok Karen
I guess words can have meaning if they're part of a common vernacular.
Had a more junior team member call me the completely wrong name (although it does rhyme with mine) in an email, that was to me.
Mark but people spell it Marc
And we wonder why KPMG goes by the short version of their full name

What if we all started giving people the benefit of the doubt in assuming that they probably aren't trying to disrespect you?

Make it a point to spell each other’s names correctly going forward - shouldn’t be a big deal…

What’s your name? Just want to make sure it’s not me misspelling it

This!
Is this your name?
My last name is a pretty common man’s name, but I am a woman. The number of people who email me addressing me by my last name as if it’s my first name is absurd. Even people I’ve met in person or on Zoom video, multiple times, have done this.
This. I get it when some O365 doesn’t show last name, first name but when I call you Mr. First name can’t you call me by my First name? Like 🙄
It’s always Delloite…

It’s Mrs Doolittle to you
I have a common name with an odd spelling. The other day 3 separate people misspelled my name. I decided then, I just don’t care. My parents are the real assholes for trying to be creative.
