If you're a member, Costco offers travel packages. Check their memorial day ones. They're cheap in comparison to booking everything yourself
Costco’s packages are amazing. Would get a Costco membership for this alone.
New Mexico is moderately priced and you can road trip from TX. Things to do if interested: White Sands National Park, Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Bandelier National Monument, Taos, Four Corners.
Backpacking. Idk where you are located but just look up some nearby trips on AllTrails and head out! Cheap (once you have the gear, which is a onetime investment, or rent from REI) and actually refreshing to “unplug” for a few days. I love how my mindset very rapidly shifts back to the basics. I am only worried about food, water and where to set up my next camp (shelter).
+1 for the AllTrails app
where are you coming from?
San Antonio, Texas
London has some great fares right now on British Airways and American. Great time of the year to visit also, and it’s not too far.
Arizona is a a short ~2 ½ hour flight. Plenty to do in Phoenix/Scottsdale and you can even can take a quick visit up to Sedona, which is BEAUTIFUL. If you like more outdoorsy stuff or things with picturesque views, there's the Grand Canyon, Horsehoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Devil's Bridge, Monument Valley, Havasu Falls, Emerald Cove, etc. But just keep in mind that some of these places require a permit!
Agree with this. Get the hiking and scenery done first, then spend the rest of the trip in Scottsdale by the pool and eating good food. Covers all the bases. Plus it gets chilly at night so you can kick back in pajamas by a fire pit.
Where you from and where you want to go ?
Try Costa Rica. Actually super cheap flights from North America and there are plenty of places safe for a solo traveler. My sister and I went for about 5 days and did Monteverdi half the time (a bed and breakfast in the rainforest and zip line tour plus exploring solo) and then stayed near playa samara the second half in an Airbnb.
