Great Wolf Lodge? Never been, but I see commercials for it all the time.

I took my kid to Great Wolf and had a good time personally. Not relaxing though.

Any nice resort on the beach in Maui or Honolulu if expense is not an issue. It’s hot in June in Hawaii but so is the PNW. Maybe the Disney resort for the kids. If the trip is 5/6 days the pain of the flight is worth it.

My family does a week trip to a cabin at Priest Lake Idaho, which is pretty relaxing. But maybe not great for really young kids yet.

Working moms in advertising - genuine question - what is a (relatively) low stress role in advertising or at an agency / consulting firm? I can’t do always on, high-stress jobs like account / client management anymore and maintain my mental health (I have small kids).

It’s taken a LOT of self honesty to admit this. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but for now, I need a change to be fully present in my personal life and mentally healthy. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you! 🙏

This is my 9th year teaching. The biggest change I have noticed is parent support. It’s gone from, “I’ll handle it,” to “Not my child.” It’s only been 9 years. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it widespread enough to be a cultural shift?

Tell me if this is selfish or not. I adore my family, but since they're doing a very lowkey Christmas situation this year, I really would rather take a weeks vacation on my own. Obviously the holidays are about spending time with those you love, but I'm tired! And I see my entire family at least once a month for a group dinner. Am I a bad daughter/sister if I choose vacation this one time?

Hey there!
Any chance anyone can explain what the holiday allowance in the Netherlands is?
I've been interviewing and heard the salary range us 47-52 + mobility. Does that include the allowance etc?

The firm is Accenture FYI.

Thank!

How long is too long?
I’m at the end of a recruiting process that includes 5 interviews and a take-home assessment, all of which went well. That was 18 days ago. The HR rep was on vacation and came back 6 days ago. She told me she was going to meet with the CD to regroup 5 days ago. I still haven’t heard anything. Is this normal?

What do you do at night to relax? I was discussing with my SO who never worked in public and has a great career (Manager FP&A) and he is shocked that my weekdays are so filled with work. I realized that I rarely watch tv on weekdays cause from Monday to Thursday, I mostly work late so get back online after dinner and work couple hours before bed. I explained that this is pretty normal as a an S3 at a B4 and it never bothered me until we moved in together. Wondering if anyone has better WLB

Im struggeling with which stroller to get. i was set on Uppa Baby in case I have another, and all the hip moms use it. But, My husband mentioned a jogger. We don’t run, But living in SoCal you can easily have an active life. Im not sure about having two strollers, we live in a tiny casita next to the beach. Advice? Any women out there have both strollers, and use one more than the other?

Hi Mommas! Do you give your nanny Veteran's Day off with pay? I am torn because my nanny told me as she was leaving for the day today, that she isn't coming in tomorrow due to the holiday. I still have to work. I had previously communicated all my company holidays/vacation time with her through the end of the year and asked her if she needed additional time off. She said no, so now I'm rushing to find childcare. Should I still pay her for Veteran's Day?

I have a hand full of k-5 students who have gone the first half of the school year without music because of remote learning. Our district is moving to 100% traditional teaching after the MLK holiday. Have a question to Asians here. I’m mid-30s from Asia and am making lower end of 6 figures currently. My older sister was making more than I did until a few months back and lost one job due to covid so is now not making much. But she is married and has a house and a car of her own. She spends a lot of money on herself and buys gifts to her boyfriends/lovers. I just found out mom is going through major surgery in my home country and it costs nearly 6k. I asked if she wanted us to help her pay.

My boyfriend wants kids. The only kids I want are the ones with fur and 4 legs. He loves them because he has nieces and nephews, but he doesn’t even wake up when our senior cat cries at night or throws up on the floor. I’m the one that hears it. Doesn’t make me feel hopeful that he’ll wake up when he hears a baby cry at night. He sleeps like a log.

Applied to transfer to another property, found out that my manager told their manager that I had attendance issues, which she has never talked to me about and even said recently that I don’t have any attendance issues. I have been late by about 10 minutes a couple times when the bus is late, and have had to take a couple of emergency sick days, but I’m usually in the office before her. I technically shouldn’t know that she said it at all so I have no idea how to approach her about it.
