Are there any men that are actually happily married. Between the posts here and the current place I’m at - which is filled with Dads checking me out with their wives and babies in tow - I don’t see why anyone would ever get married.

Any of you folks stray (ie cheat) / currently straying in a relationship? How’d it happen? Why’d it go down? Did you tell, etc?

I know there are a lot of people here that are in an open relationship - for y’all: did it ever cross over into something more than just physical?

It’s been years since I’ve had anything remotely resembling a relationship.

I’m not sure if I’m overthinking this but I (25M) have a feeling a friend(23F) is hitting on me. Whenever we hang out she’ll get really close and keep touching/poking me whenever we need to turn corners, cross the block, etc because she’s the navigator. When we sit next to each other on the bench she’ll be up on my personal space up. Just a lot of shoulder to shoulder touching. I had other female friends this touchy as well but I wouldn’t think anything of it because some people are touchier 1/2

Does anyone have any success stories of being introduced to their partner (arranged marriage) by parents/family friends as a first gen? My main concerns are:
1) raising family’s hopes

Hoping this doesn’t turn controversial. Should I be teaching my young kids to read Quran in Arabic (so learn a new language just to read Quran but no value otherwise), or skip Arabic and have them read transliteration (so like Alhamdu lilahi) or third option to just read in English the translation where they will actually understand? I mean, I spend 100 dollars a week on a tutor to teach them Arabic. My parents spent thousands and I can barely read it now and prefer transliteration.thoughts?

My wife and I have 2 children. We got married young and I have handled all expenses since marriage. I've even paid for some of her schooling and have encouraged her to continue finishing her Bachelors (she has difficulty choosing what to study and insinuated that when I mention the drawbacks of certain fields, it puts her off studying at all, she's also in student loan debt because her family took out loans in her name and never paid them off).

I'm so glad to see the changes to accept more women in academia in recent years. I'm hopeful that my own daughter will be able to follow in my footsteps one year.

They're the definition of a hot mess that has burned bridges with all mutual friends. No boundaries. Sometimes you just have to laugh at our situation. We have a more challenging life and work experience than so many people, but we're also so blessed in so many ways. I have to say though, dwindling parent support this year has really been a challenge. I know everyone is stressed but I am feeling a little dumbfounded by some treatment I've received. How do you deal with unsupportive parents without getting worked up? My hands are tied

When it comes to salary and title, what constitutes experience? Do internships count? A previous job that wasn't in advertising but relied heavily on writing skill? How about two years of ad school?

Why are companies not more transparent about salaries? It should be required to list the salary range in a posting. I’m tired of applying to jobs only to find out the salary is way less than I’m willing to accept. This needs to change. Stop wasting applicants time and start including the salary range in job postings!!! Rant over.

I have over 10 years experience in design/marketing. The companies I worked for are small businesses (Less than 100 employees) so I’ve had to wear many hats (e-mail, print, social media management & ads, and very little google analytics and ads). How do you respond when straight white men and women attorneys make comments about how you do too much "non-billable" DEI work?

For Nov 2022 I am on track to bill 170 hours after today, with an additional 100 non-billable, which includes a bunch of various DEI commitments. I am busy but I don't feel like it's too much, esp when the DEI work makes the rest feel fulfilling. I always say yes when law students reach out, even if we have to schedule a month+ in advance. My unit recently changed their LIK policy. We were originally able to use LIK for 2 nights (Friday night, Saturday night) if you live under 50 miles. Now we have to live 150+ miles out in order to get 2 nights. The memo was signed by a one star. I am at a DoD focused startup that is drafting their military leave policy.

Our PTO is Flexible Leave = they don’t track days worked in return for days off

The draft military leave policy:
- 2 weeks of annual AT can be flex leave
- 2 days allocated a year for PT test

I previously worked at Deloitte and loved their military leave policy, so I am pushing for 2 weeks of AT allowed and 80 hours a year for travel to drill/medical appts/misc days you have to meet active counterparts.
