Need suggestions. I just found out a client (in house counsel) has breast cancer. She is an awesome strong woman who has been a great advocate for me, and I want to be there for her. Any ideas of things I can do to support her while she is undergoing treatment? My first thought is to sign her up for a door to door laundry service, but I would love suggestions.
What's the salary range of a PwC Director who's been in the consulting industry for 10 years?
Applying to Wharton, CBS, NYU, MIT Round 1, wondering what else I should add based on my stats: 750 (48Q, 44V, 5IR - is this a flag?) 3.7 GPA in accounting T50 4 YOE at matriculation at Big 4 Audit with good innovation/leadership highlights. Founded club and other ECs from college, recent advisory board positions but don’t have much to list from them yet. Target is consulting.
I’m currently an intern at a Digital asset consulting firm outside of Philly. This summer I’ve worked with domains, I was wondering how to translate my experience to IT audit/advisory. Thanks.
I have a huge crush on an recently-hired intern. I’m married and twice as old. I would never act on it. But.... swoon
Do you enjoy the work at MBB? I know the hours can be long, but is the work interesting and/or enjoyable?
There’s nothing I hate more than taking American Airlines on a Monday morning and sitting in the center of a 3 seat isle.
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Is there such thing as too much ass kissing in a job interview? Or everyone likes for the interviewee to do their research and act like they would really like to work for the company and the creative director they are interviewing with?
Ever left a dumpster fire in your wake on your way out at a client? How'd you handle it?
Interviewing for jobs honestly sometimes feel like the hunger games where only one person survives the fight
What is the KPMG pension plan? How does it work for managers and above ? Left the firm a few months ago, and got something in the mail but have no clue about the benefit
Anyone feel super awkward around their team when they’re trying to develop you? My manager and leadership keep telling me that they see me owning the workstream I’m on soon and that I’ll be managing the project in the future and that I have big things ahead for me at the firm. The problem is that I’m job searching now and haven’t told any of them and it’ll be super awkward when I leave.
How do salary increases work at Big 4 if you come in an experienced hire? For example if I switch firms as an SA at 130k salary, what can I expect as an increase the next year since I’m not on the normal comp structure?
M3A - 2-rated, only $3k base increase and $12k bonus (last yr $12k base increase, $8k bonus). Told the next step to get a large base increase is promotion. Is this bullshit to keep me hanging on?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
What could be the salary of 6.5 years experience software engineer, who have experience in c++/python/c , open stack cloud middle ware and applications development, docker, k8s ?
Made out with an intern after the busy season happy hour event. No regrets. I haven't gotten any since I started working until 2am every night for the past couple of weeks.
Please don’t judge me. I have a spending problem and have wracked up about $10k in credit card debt. I created a budget and a plan to pay it all off in 12-18 months, but am worried about my spending habits. Any books, tips, etc that you recommend?
