PowerPoint transitions: no
Build slides: love them
You're telling a story. If you can use slides to bring it to life totally
Have the slide numbers animate
Yeah. I think it's unnecessary and distracting from the content of the presentation. Builds can be really helpful tho
No slide transitions. Builds if necessary. It's tough when you have to share the deck in pdf and have a ton of trickery though. As with anything... know your audience
building charts or diagrams in charts can be extremely helpful for getting ideas across to clients. but just putting more text in with each click is bleh
If you're asking, the slide transitions in question are probably tacky. Let's take it back to the 90's and get some blinking text and fireworks too.
I’ll use build ins-and-outs if I’m presenting and when the deck for sure isn’t traveling so that way they’re focused on me rather than the slides. Bad example: asking a question and then making the question rotate into the answer/next topic. I always check with ADs prior to presenting to make sure I’m not just adding shit for the sake of adding shit
Use whatever you need to in order to support your message. Some of them are straight stupid, but I’ve found uses for quite a few of them
