Poll: my friend not on this app has an offer to join BCG/McK. She currently has 1.5 years pre MBA experience at a boutique strategy (LEK) with strong bschool placements and exit opps but not fond...

The only thing I'll say is that with only 1.5 years of experience, I wouldn't turn down MBB just because it's "entry level." In the grand scheme of things that time won't make a difference, even if it seems significant when we're younger. Other than that, though, I think we'd need more info on what she doesn't like. MBB will most likely lead to some better opportunities but depends on her goals/abilities/interests, etc. if she wants to go to b school, i would say give MBB a try

like

Other thing I'd add is that at least w Bain, have seen accelerated promotions for those coming in w experience. So you could get some of those 1.5 years back

like

Go MBB... figure the rest out later.

like

If she goes to bschool , stay LEK and getting good recs is better. No bschool, then go MB for prestige

like

Of the work they do. MB is asking her to start as an entry level right out of college. She's debating whether to take it and potentially enjoy it more, exit consulting all together if something comes up, or stick it out and apply to bschool in a year. She's not 100% set on long term goals yet. Thoughts? Advice? Thank you!

Go MBB.

We just had LEK one year move to our office. Seems pretty standard, fair or not

Forget about getting. years back, the prestige and exit oops over LEK make it worth it

As with Bain (per B1), you'll get promoted as soon as you're ready at McK

Those firms are willing to give tenure credit if the experience is legit in consulting. Also, if she's only worked 1.5 post undergrad that is still entry level in most employers' eyes

Hi all - I’m working as a Jr AE at a remote agency. Before full-time at this agency, I interned there for 2 years and often did pro-bono work. I love my company so much, but I often feel stuck when it comes to salary and growth. The salary is minimum wage and every time I ask about a raise they agree I need one but never get around to it. Today, I was offered a position at another agency as a remote AE with more than double my current salary. I didn’t seek this job out but don’t know what to do.

What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future

Hi all, would love to get your opinion on an estimated market rate for a employee like me, as I’m thinking about asking for a raise in January but haven’t done this before. 1 YOE TS/SCI Full-Scope Clearance 1/2 thru Masters program (Analytics Georgia Tech) Been lead data scientist on team for 5+ months 2 AWS and Tableau cert (sorry had to throw that in there lol) I know this is a tough task without all the context but I’m currently making $95k and that seems to be the lowest on my team.
