I know this is an HR question, but curious about others’ experiences. Do companies that don’t have a grief time off policy ever allow sick leave for this?
Supposed to take my first beach vacation since before the pandemic, and thanks to everyone rushing to get gas there is absolutely nowhere to fuel up for the trip. Has anyone ever thought of putting a policy together to prevent hoarding/fuel panics like this? People are so concerned a put gas prices that they jack them up even more by rushing to the gas station.
Any of you book a nice vacation a few months out? I have lots of Bonvoy points and trying to book some international properties (Bali etc) while rates are low.. any ideas for good deals still
Stop talking about how busy and frantic you are with work on a holiday week. It’s not a badge of honor, and I’m not impressed. There are only two reasons why you’re busy:
1. You suck at planning.
2. You don’t know how to set boundaries.
3. You don’t care enough about your direct reports to set boundaries so that they can relax this week.
Contemplating move from EY to KPMG.
Would appreciate someone pointing out the benefits difference
- PTO for Manager level
- Sick leave?
- Paternity leave
- Do you have to use PTO for the summer and winter holiday shutdown?
- Any wellness $$?
- Any cellphone and Internet reimbursement?
Also, I've heard about a pension plan

Is it frowned upon to start a new job with already 2 weeks of vacation planned within a week of starting? Seen it done, unsure if it looks bad or not. Insight please!
Help! I’m transitioning into Product Design and finally got my first offer. Super excited but want to make sure that I’m compensated competitively. The company is a newer startup, estab. around 2017. I would be their first PD. They have offered me the following 2 options to choose between:
- CAD $77,000 p.a., 20 days of paid annual leave, 10 days of paid sick leave
- CAD $81,000 p.a.,10 days of paid annual leave, 5 days of paid sick leave
I prefer more PTO but also higher salary. Thoughts?

Hi Fam! I’m on the East Coast and looking for a tropical vacation spot for 5-6 days. Looking for recs! I’ve done Mexico a bunch so not keen on that and also looking for somewhere that doesn’t have strict covid requirements (we are all vaxxed). I have a ton of Marriott points to blow if that helps (over 400k).
H1B folks, I have my visa stamping interview in Delhi on the 17th and the 18th. Do you think that’s sufficient time for it to be processed for me to be able to fly back on the 29th or 30th? Anyone experience any extra delays during this period because of the holiday season?
Any ideas of a special pre-Christmas night for a newish boyfriend to make our holiday celebration together special during covid? We’ve only been dating 3 months and we’re not spending actual Christmas Eve or day together but I want to do something a little special with him.
Has Moss Adams move to unlimited PTO yet? Comments on Glassdoor are from 2020 - wondering if things have changed since the pandemic.

What should I do? My manager is micro managing everything. They make you sign in/sign out everyday and have timed lunches. And if you are a few minutes late in signing in they are onto you and make you make up the times. My manager messages me right away asking why you signed late and to make up the hours

I recently realized that I no longer want to work with a partner ( Partner A). Partner A became a partner 2 years ago but still works like a senior manager and tries to micromanage everything. Partner A is also very slow in reviewing the work which results in delays in deliverables. I always had a great relationship with my clients but this is causing issues. The problem is 3 of my biggest 5 clients are Partner A's clients and I like my clients and the work. What do I do?
