Curious...has anyone signed up for the AICPA life insurance? I recently did, and they are sending a doctor to my home for the health check. It seems weird that I wouldn’t go to a doctors office. Let me know if you’ve done this and what to expect.

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Going Roatán like I forgot how to travel.
• Alarm goes off at 5:15, wake up at 7:45
• Forgot headphones
• Forgot charger
• Checking bag and it’s 100% self serve (but I don’t work here)
• Cant check laptop because of battery and it won’t fit it scuba gear bag… that’s why I have 2 hands (coffee and random laptop)
• Negative Covid test, check, but it’s 20 min outside the 72 hour window based on who knows what time they chose and didn’t mention (don’t worry, they’ll just give me another one haha) 😅

Anyone use Hodinkee for insurance? I’ve been with Jewelers Mutual for a long time, never had to file a claim (the true test), but I’m annoyed with their requests for updated appraisals. It sounds like Hodinkee is more automated, any good though? I don’t see why I should get a banged up Panerai re-appraised, just want simple coverage.

So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

My temp contract has been extended. I’m relieved to be able to pay the bills, but after giving 70-80 shots a day, I literally dream about giving vaccines almost every night! Struggling to keep positive about finding a new permanent job - I was laid off at the end of April, have applied to over 60 jobs, had 6 interviews, and no offers. I can’t go back to chain retail - it damn near broke me in my 20’s, and it’s much worse now.

Anyone else have MAJOR social fatigue post-COVID? I feel like such a buzz kill cause my fiancé still loves going out and seeing friends, but I make it about 2 hours with people over or at a bbq and I’m physically exhausted. Getting in my 8th month and starting to feel sore in my groin area. I read it’s because the baby is adding pressure down there. Do you know if it’s bad to do inner thigh exercises? I do easy floor exercises to stay fit/healthy during Covid, but the soreness (feels like slight muscle pain but it’s not) is making me wonder if I should stop.

Since I started working I keep sending money to Africa every month. There is always a situation that needs to be solve and they keep coming. I feel like my entire family is using me and I am only the bank . People only call me when they need money, but never about my health, mental or just how things are going. When I go to Africa, everyone expect gifts but noone will bring me one (not even an avocado or manga that I like so much). How do you guys deal with this issue? Cause it needs to stop..

Stock market weatherman here! Jobless claims up more than 1M, lowest since April. A second wave of COVID is on the way, no vaccine in sight. Stimulus has stalled. Tensions with China escalate. Weather model says these signs point to sunny skies 🌞 Not a cloud in sight, only higher highs.

Is this legal?
My partner and I are moving out of our condo building in NYC at month end, and the building management (not our landlord) has communicated to us that, on top of the 1K non-refundable fee and 1K security deposit to move out (stated in lease), they are also issuing a $1,250 "sanitization fee" for the public areas (hallways/elevators), since we happen to be moving out during COVID19. We feel this is taking advantage of tenants during this time and may not be legal. Any advice helps!
