How do you tell a new employer you're interviewing for that you're leaving your current job because of the work environment...

For example, we see up I've been with your company for only a year, how come you're wanting to leave?

My reply: The work environment doesn’t allow for me to collaborate with others, have the flexibility like most, and be able to have opportunity for growth..

Is that okay to say?

So I applied for a position & received feedback from the hiring manager stating that the position that I applied for was filled internally but they would like consider me for another position. So I interviewed and two days later, I was offered the position. Went through a background check & negotiated salary. It’s been almost 2 months and they stated that the delay is due to internal HR issues since the dept director did not create a new job requisition for the job they offered me. Thoughts?

For those of you who have done recruitment for larger companies (150 plus employees) could you please explain how different it is from recruiting for a small business? I have done recruiting for a small employment agency but not in the corporate world. I have done it for three years but wanted to know if there are huge key differences? Also in terms of level of introversion and extroversion would you say recruitment or TA in the corporate world requires way less speaking in terms of employee relations and would be more routine as opposed to a generalist role?

I have a colleague who is 8 years in the financial services industry. Works on the retail sales side (350k-400k TC). Turning 33 this year. Wants to get an MBA or possibly EMBA so he can leave sales and possibly go more into finance on the institutional side, which imo requires at least a T15 degree. Specifically in the Northeast unless it is online.

But he wants to do it in the shortest amount of time without leaving his current job.

I get slack all the time from older teachers that are jealous because they see good performance numbers from my students however in reality, I just love teaching and have been doing it since I was 9! Let me share a tip that I have seen a few times in the bowl. People try to send rent but zelle has a cap and wire has a fee. ACH/EFT is a free, 2-day fund transfer service. Ask for routing and account number and account name. Most banks do test deposits so ask for the amounts and you are done. Any bank, big or small, credit unions, brokerage firms, they all participate. I have never seen a financial institution that doesn't have this capability.

I really need help to get myself ready to sleep train my baby. I had tough time getting pregnant and the birth wasn’t easy. I have PPA and my baby is everything. Currently a data scientist but I have specialized and forgotten some things learned in school, so I'm looking to efficiently restudy just what's necessary.

Data Engineers. Who is happy in their roles and actually coding/working with interesting data/tools, and where are you at? Who is cleaning up dirty excel spreadsheets, and where are you trying to escape from? Who is getting paid fairly for this stuff?

Thoughts on Tableau Prep? Trying to see where Tableau Prep's limitations are compared to an Alteryx for mainly data prep and manipulation.

How long did you prep for data science interviews before applying?
Consultant doing technical work, but real work feels more specialized than school. So I've forgotten quite a bit, yet DS interviews at Amazon seem to want us to walk through a wide variety of algorithms.
Should I start studying before I get an interview offer?

Currently I'm on a data quality project at my company. So far I have been told what to do. Been doing data profiling, completeness checks and automating business rules tests with SQL.
