I know PwC Risk Assurance is hiring in LA

I like my firm. SO works for KPMG, so I have a little perspective. We are always hiring. Be yourself in interview. My interview was very conversational- not as work related as others I've had.

It's tough to generalize because experiences differ wildly by service line and office but I've been happy and treated well in tax here

What city?

Pwc is not hiring for some groups

LA

Depends on what service line you're planning on going to.

I hear kpmg is the least cut throat of the big 4 and easiest to move up the chain. Not sure why you would consider leaving....

PwC 3 as a whole its a great firm. However, it does depend on your team and it doesn’t have the career growth/mobility I am looking for.

Thanks PwC 5!

KPMG also ranked well about Pwc and EY on the best places to work this year. I promise you that it's the same job, different name but I think KPMG has been doing a better job of showing their people they care. Just putting that out there.

My friend is wondering how to approach a raise conversation with her new boss.

A data analyst on her team left so she’s been taking over that position on top of her regular job (spending ~50% of her time) and working a lot more now (40 hrs a week to 60 hrs). She’s not really interested in the data work, but she’s happy to do it if she can get a raise. How can she best approach this with a new manager that just joined 1-2 months ago?

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. For example, I get weird international stuff sometimes that not everyone gets (I think maybe? ) and I need to reread the 5471 rules or 8865 rules as I do the returns.
