Capgemini I joined sometime back at D1 level , I do technical work most of time like coding, dev, testing etc.
I have worked a lot in my 14 years and still have required skills needed for the work. I don't have energy to slog any further. Moreover I get anxiety when I see junior level people doing same work as me and earning more or same.
I feel cannot sit longer hrs due to back issues and other health issues and family commitments.
Can I change to management side without risking my job .

Drink lots of water. I'm not trying to be clever; this has affected my mood, which affects my mindset, and how resilient I am in warding off stressful thoughts.
Not to mention that drinking more water also forces you to get up more (cuz you have to pee lol) which is great cuz you should try to stand up every hour and stretch your muscles a bit
Daily gratitude journaling with a focus on very specific items. Ie. Today I’m grateful that my dog wanted to cuddle and lick my nose when I woke up.
I turned to daily gratitude about 4 years ago and it’s changed my life
“It is not the happy people who are grateful, it is the grateful people who are happy”-some person I don’t remember
Make time to focus just on yourself. Whether that be a workout, a walk, cooking, Netflix etc I think it’s super important during busy season to take a few minutes to just focus on your wellness and this will help lower stress levels. I also think it’s important to realize that everything is a learning situation and us accountants aren’t saving lives and doing brain surgery, the work will get done at the end of the day and it’s not all due in one day. Having a game plan of what to do each day and taking breaks during the day to break it up will help as well to lower stress and make the work feel manageable!
Dont lose your routine so you dont start spiralling downwards. Wake up on time, do daily exercise, wash your face and brush your teeth etc. When things get really boring/tiring you need this routine to maintain your sanity and let you zone out sometimes.

I try to be grateful! Before bed I think of 5 things I’m grateful for. It helps me put things in perspective. I did this mission trip years ago, and it SUCKED. I’m not an outdoors person at all, but I had to be out all day during winter and rain, cold and drenched. I look back on those days and I’m so grateful I’m able to afford rent, food, clothes, basic necessities. Another thing I remember is when I was in college, I had a hard time finding a job. It was super competitive, and I basically got into PwC through networking. I actually got rejected the first time, but the person I networked with still got me in. I remember being SO happy to finally have a job lined up after graduation.
Start a good morning routine. I wake up and before I do anything drink lemon water, then make an espresso and go upstairs to do daily gratitude, read and plan my day/week. I write down 5 things I’m grateful for that’s happened in the last 24 hours - I thought it was weird to do at first, but honestly helps a lot and then throughout your day you are looking for the good things to write down.
Also always make time for yourself. Whether it be watching a show you love, having a spa night, reading - just make time for yourself. It’s important to put yourself first sometimes. Stress over work is definitely not worth it. Our jobs are important but at the end of the day we are not brain surgeons saving lives - things can wait.

I'm finding phone calls with friends helps at the moment. I hate zoom/facetime at the moment but telephone feels better and less pressured.
Thanks everyone!! Definitely need to implement a gratitude journal - I like the very specific gratitude idea since that will vary day to day!
It will open your eyes to a lot of wonderful things directly impacting your day to day experience
10 minutes of meditation every morning. It sounds too easy, and I was a skeptic. But wake up a little early, light some incense, a candle, or an aromatherapy diffuser (whatever you prefer), set a timer on your phone for 10 minutes, sit in a relaxed position, and just count your breath. It sounds ridiculous, but it works somehow. Your mind will wander but after you do it for a while your mind will recognize it and you can consciously refocus on your breathing.
Yoga. Taking the time for my practice while listening to affirmations have definitely helped me with setting up healthy boundaries and self confidence. I used to work out to the extreme and never took the time to do restorative stretches so yoga has definitely helped with muscle recovery and flexibility.
Drank lots of water and just spending some time being grateful that I am alive, loved and just being someone to my family who will miss me if I’m gone. Journaling is great but it’s just a tool to enable and promote some positive cognitive self therapy. It doesn’t have to be a whole journal. I started with just daily post it notes and keeping them on my wfh monitor/desk area. It served as a daily reminder and whenever I get frustrated then I can just look at them to ground myself before I lose my cool.
I’ve been doing a gratitude journal and walking daily midday the past month and it’s improved my mood a lot.
Invest in a life coach! A good one. Life is more precious than anything
I second the gratitude journal. Start each day by writing down three things you’re genuinely grateful for!
Thanks for all the thoughtful responses!! Such a helpful thread especially as we enter busy season - definitely going to start my day off with meditation + gratitude journaling and not feel guilty about taking a workout or dinner break every day
Exercise. It improves your sleep. I'm so stressed out by 4/15 that can't sleep and I'm useless because my brain isn't working right.
Water and try to make time and talk to people that appreciate you. Good luck!
