KPMG partners, could you tell me what the implications are for taking 4 months maternity leave as a partner? I should be up for partner promotion next year and might be having a child as a partner. I'm guessing if you meet your targets, it doesn't really matter how much maternity leave you take as a partner but wanted to hear your thoughts on how parental leave (especially 4 months) affected your compensation, client relationships, teams, etc.
Hi all! I want to know you opinion! On March 1st I started a new job. It's really a great oportunity for my career. Just 2 weeks later I realized that I was pregnant and I don't know how to say it in the company. I'm afraid if they fire me. I haven't said nothing already. What do you think?
Am I crazy? Started talking about having kids and my response was I don't want to have kids until I have x amount of saved for a down payment...here's my logic if we don't have kids we can can save about 40k a year. If we do have kids we can probably save 15-20k a year. If we wait 3 years (live in HCOL) we won't have to worry. Wife thinks I'm crazy...
Ever reflect on the exact time in your life you knew you did not want kids, and the triggering event or circumstance? In my case I just never had a maternal urge at all.
My mother in law is dying of cancer but is also a toxic person. My husband has mixed feelings around letting her dump all of her emotions that should be handled with a therapist on him. Beyond this,
What are some registry/baby/toddler items that you didn’t need? I’m expecting my first, live in a small home and want to keep nonessential items minimal. We’re saving up to move to a bigger home, but will be in this small home for probably 1-3 more years.
Any of you feel your child is more attached to the nanny/ au pair? She is live-in and close in age to me. Should I just be happy she loves/ takes good care of my daughter or should I do something?
I had a friend in my building help me out with childcare and this person charged me something very unreasonable especially when she was watching her own kid at the same time . I’m not going to say anything since it’s a temporary situation but I do think this will ruin our friendship. So annoyed and to top it off , she told me she gave me a discount . We didn’t talk about a rate up front but I assumed that since she’s my friend, I wouldn’t get taken advantage of.
Slight vent: I had saved up a bunch of PTO to travel a ton this year (long-term project) which obviously got kicked to the dust and I have a bunch expiring this year because of that. Was looking forward to next year (including a family trip that’s been on the calendar for 2 years), but 3 people just left the team, only 1 will be replaced, and 3 more announced parental leave in spring. I have go lives through February and feel like I’m sprinting a marathon and will never get a break now.
Just found out we are pregnant😊 Any recommendations for a gynecologist in Dallas/Irving?

Took my first round of Clomid 50 mg this month and learned today that my progesterone levels are low and I likely I didn’t ovulate. I feel discouraged. Been ttc for 10 months now and I learned recently that Im not ovulating. I didnt think It would be hard getting pregnant as I had regular cycles before covid. Anyone had luck ovulating and conceiving with an increased dosage of clomid? Looking for encouragement and success stories to lift my spirits
Anyone had a child after 35? What was your experience? We’re thinking about adding to our family but I’m scared about the possible complications and a “high risk” pregnancy. What makes 35 the starting age for high risk?
As u have seen ur family struggling a lot in childhood, do u live in US for the sake of money. I am one of the guy. It's been 5 yrs since I came here and feeling so depressed nowadays. Feel like I badly need a break from US life. 33 old here. Married and kid is 2 yr old
Deciding between two nannies for my 6 month old. Both are sweet good people who I think could fit into the family. Both have accepted the $18/hour rate, plus paid holidays and two weeks vacation. One is more timid, asks a lot of questions, takes copious notes on baby's naps, schedules, etc and seems to need a bit more hand holding. She also doesn't talk to my baby as much. The other seems more "competent", gets it, and can run with things without my having to hold her hand. Con't...
I start pto before my maternity leave in just 2 weeks.... it’s so hard to concentrate and want to get anything done!! But of course we don’t even have a backfill for me yet so I have to create loads of SOPs etc.... gah!!! I just want to be washing baby clothes or sitting outside a cafe doing sudoku
My 9 year-old sister is turning 10 this weekend. We lost our mom in Feb, and so far she’s doing well. My bf points out that she seems to be coping a lot better than he’d think and wonders if we should be concerned that she’s not feeling more depressed or calling for my mom. I think I prefer to see her happy as a normal kid bc (contd)
An orthodox father can really make your life a living hell
You will lose all self confidence, you will question your existence, i spent 25 yrs of my life trying to impress my father but in vain.
Missed all opportunities, lost friends, always scared to do new things because i was pulled back. I repent why i even listened to him
Now I see no point living my life anymore
