Possible to have too many certs? Currently at 11 as a functional person. Considering going for CPQ to keep my options open and enjoy the learning. Have had previous recruiters/hiring managers (ctd)

The recruiters are probably complaining because they can’t lowball you on salary. Salesforce certs absolutely mean something and the more you have, and the more specialized they are, the more pay you can demand. Questioning someone’s certification count is just another way they try to make you think you aren’t marketable. It’s a lie. Don’t talk to those recruiters again.

I think they’re worth it. While certs don’t equal experience, they certainly help build the foundational knowledge and nomenclature needed to talk to clients (a necessity for functional consultants) Also, your company is valued as a Salesforce partner based on the certs that its practitioners have

I have 15+ and am going for CTA. It only helps you to have more knowledge and the certs give you something to show for it. I typically play the technical architect role on projects. It is always helpful to have technical expertise on the functional team as they can advise the client on out of the box functionality. If the functional team does not have the expertise then they typically tend toward over customization and end up creating a mess. So cert up, more knowledge never hurt anyone.

Is there any way around the $6k price for the CTA cert? That’s quite the pill to swallow

Thanks all! Will start on the next one!

question the number, thinking I’m just a cert collector (though I’m very confident I have the skills/knowledge to back it up). Thoughts?

As long as you can implement it, no problem. People with all certs and no experience are the worst.

Been at ORD since 12. Now 8PM. Flight got delayed again. My bag is on another flight, they told me I could get on the earlier 1, if I checked my bag, then didn’t have a seat for me. Do I give up yet?
