Potential agency boomerang having a hard time making a decision to stay brand-side or go back. Need some advice! Do I leave the brand, being "the client," fun work, great WLB, as well as the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced and meh pay? Do I go back to agency lead a new team with significant responsibilities, forget about WLB, sell my soul alongside smart people, get great pay and benefits? PS: I'm a mom and brand-side for 5 years. What do I need to know!? Thank you!

I would try to stay brand side but look elsewhere. As someone who has bounced back and forth and as a mom right now I would definitely not choose advertising (talent retention at all time low, long hours, and the churn and spin is real). I am currently back in advertising and trying to get out. It’s just not sustainable. There are brands that pay very well it just depends on your location, finding the right opening.

Make a list of all the reasons you left the agency side. Are anything of those things changing in your boomerang offer? If not, are you looking back with rose colored glasses? Will you be looking for another brand role in a year? These are the questions to ask yourself before seriously entertaining! I’m brand side now and remind myself of these points sometimes when I miss it.

Hi 🐠, need some advice. Was told by my manager that time doing research (for info related to my client) is not client billable and has to be charged to the overhead code. This strikes me as fundamentally wrong, esp bc this is a flat rate project so the hours will just affect my utilization / internal metrics, not how much the client is billed. I asked for a non-billable code that counts towards utilization but was told my utilization is fine even though I’d be billing <40hrs & to use OH code

Seeking portfolio advice. 23 years old- 95k comp, 20k currently in market through the most basic Schwab index funds and Vanguard ETF’s, already max out 401k & IRA. I’m currently a mid level art director and have an offer to be a Sr. AD at a good agency. I feel a little guilty and insecure that maybe if I accept this offer I will be biting off more than I can chew since I’ve only been a mid level for a year. Is that BS or am I right to feel that way? On one hand I’m like okay this is basically the same thing I’m doing now but probably more client facing (which I’m cool with) and on the other hand I feel like an imposter. What should I do?

Has anyone had experience with a biting toddler? My kid is the daycare biter (21 mo) - he never bites us or his older sisters so it’s not been a behavior we’ve seen at home since he was about 12 mo. It seems like sharing toys has been the trigger lately, but today he just walked up to a kid and bit them! We’re at our wits end and stressed out waiting for the phone to ring for another early pickup. We role play sharing at home and practice using our words. Is there anything else we can be doing?
