Decorate. Plan a fabulous meal. Buy a great bottle of wine or learn a new recipe for a drink or mock tail. Make a playlist of your favorite songs. FaceTime with family.
Agree with SC1- Use it as an occasion to treat yo self. Buy your favourite food, go luxe.

OP, I will be in the same situation and it’s not my first year either. I plan to wake up, take my dog for a long walk, then make delicious breakfast, open presents, and watch Netflix or read. I usually save something I really want to watch/read so I’m really looking forward to it. Call family and friends, if you’re able.
I get sad once in a while, but you know it’s just a day. So many other things to be thankful for.

You all are right - it should feel as normal as it can possibly be. I love the idea of still buying presents, good food and prioritizing a quality read. Guess I’ll have to get a Christmas tree after all!
Hey OP. We ares going to do a virtual Christmas with some family. I have been trying to think of ways to make it special and am thinking of mailing everyone fun holiday hats so we can feel more connected. Maybe you can do something similar to make it special. It's going to be an odd holiday this year.
We were snowed in one Christmas and I read all the books on my shelf that I planned on getting to ‘someday’.
Order specialty Christmas dinner from restaurant, schedule videochats with loved ones, then have way too much fun with the adult eggnog. Maybe throw in a little karaoke for good measure.
After all that, sleep. That night sounds silly, but consultants almost never get good sleep. Your body will thank you for taking an actual break.
