How junior? 1st and 2nd year bonuses are smaller (comparably) particularly after tax. Enjoy your vacation and your weekends - it’s worth more than the after tax money

This. The marginal gain on killing your self in the early years after tax isn’t worth it.

I defer to you on if you want to but you certainly can. Especially if its a december year end but even September you could

like

December year end so I see what you mean

See if you can pick up a pro bono project, help with a research project or any other "firm hours" that count. Also find out if your firm pro-rates bonuses or has a hard cutoff.

I may not make mine as I just lateraled. But maybe it isn’t an awful idea to keep trying hard - while maintaining a healthy balance and not sacrificing your mental health - to avoid any potential lay-offs if this coming recession is worse than we imagine it’ll be.

No problem, I actually just found out my firm gives one week worth of hours at the end of the year for “ramping up” (I.e. to compensate for the first week of training and whatnot).

I mean are other people super busy and you’re turning down work? If so, then not a great look to not even hit bonus IMO. If you’re just slow and everyone else is then that’s a different story.

Just curious if anyone has seen or heard of any changes in compensation, in their firms or others, as a reaction to the somewhat more widespread acknowledgment of inflation that we poors have been dealing with for years? I have 10 years' exp and got an unexpected offer to lateral back to the large metro market I left about 5 years ago. I'm surprised/frustrated that the salary is not much higher (and I now have 5 years more experience) at $140k. Glassdoor makes it look like this might be par?

Hey everyone. This is my first time posting on fishbowl. Excited to join the community.

Anybody know what to expect for total comp as a field sales representative at Google? I'm curious to know the general ballpark for base, target commissions, and RSU's.

I'm an experienced individual contributor with an mba. Currently looking at AWS and Azure as well, so please chime in if you are familiar with any of the three.

The info on glassdoor can't be right, showing total comp under 200.

Thanks!

Currently awaiting an offer for a new sales role. Salary somewhere between 100-120, OTE 160-200 depending on base. I intend to ask about annual merit increases and what they have been previously, but was wondering if anyone had ever negotiated an annual increase based on inflation in addition to any performance based merit increases. Seems like a smart way to protect myself while times are so volatile and not get stuck with the typical 3% when inflation is 8+. Thoughts?

Currently at a fund admin but it seems like earnings potential is much higher if I could break into an actual fund eventually. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
