I am an aspiring entrepreneur and want to start a business in future for sure. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete, or close to being a start up yet. I have 1.5 years working for small company and I’m looking to gain experience elsewhere. I am on my third round for interviewing for a position in another state and getting cold feet. I would be making 50k in the new position with a raise after 4 months.

With my lack of experience time wise, I don’t feel I can ask for a higher salary.

I was having a conversation with a good friend I went to law school with. We both have been in private practice for 30+ years. We were discussing how so much energy was putting into getting into a good law school, setting up our own practices, building our law firms etc. but little to none in how to wind up our own careers and retire.I was wondering if anybody on this forum has actually retired and how life looks like after the rigorous practice of law. Do you feel a loss of purpose? Identity?Does doing volunteer work fill that void?

Accepted another offer and am leaving B4/consulting. Excited about the future, also terrified. B4 is basically a sandbox, not reflective of real life and I hope I'll be able to keep up on the outside.
