Pre-Covid, how often would a Consultant (Post MBA) travel to visit a client at L.E.K. Consulting ? I know it’s a minimal travel firm, but what positions actually do the minimal traveling?

Sometimes you go for a final presentation or other bigger presentation at the C level, but even that is rare and typically for local clients (it’s just a day trip).

There are opportunities to travel more if you want them but they are rare, particularly if you don’t express interest in traveling.

like

I travelled 2 times in 2 years lol

like

1 in ~15 cases. It’s just a certain practice where people travel. Rare, but you can network onto those cases if you want them (or do nothing if you don’t). Managers might travel once every few weeks for in person presentations

like

Nope. At LEK it means in the LEK office. Clients are often PE firms so they don’t want you at their office, and there would be all kinds of issues with you being at the portfolio company office

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

Is it possible to do a secondment within the firm in the future if i wanted to do that?

Does anyone else find it difficult to shut off from work? Especially mentally (e.g.: focusing on going to the gym, enjoying time out with friends) when there’s a bunch of emails, program escalations or just weekend client messages coming in?

Used to be less bad pre-engagement manager, but once I’ve started running large programs, work just constantly plays on my mind. It’s been more than 2 years across more than one engagement, but still find it very tiring and not sure what I can do about it

Hi All, I have joined LTI 2 years back and working in same project since. I had discussion with my lead that I want to explore opportunities in other projects.
My leads said my tagging is done on current project for total 5 years so I can't leave this project.
My current project don't have any challenging work or growth.

How's everyone doing? I was on social media today and reading about the Adam Toledo video and it took me back to last June, which on top of the pain from seeing this racist system continue to win out, June was my lowest billing month and hurt my confidence about hitting hours compared to my white peers.

How are other people dealing with 1) trauma of another racist murder by cops and 2) impact on work? I am not black, so my pain does not compare but I can't act like things are fine either...
