My marriage was a lot better when we only saw each other on the weekends. 🤣

You really notice that you don’t get the whole bed when you’re home

The travel element of this work is what keeps people from doing it for very long. It is not generally a positive impact on any relationship; be it marital, familial, or just buds

like

My ex once asked me to leave consulting.

likefunny

It was never a problem when we were married without kids. But when we had kids, I switched to a team without travel. This wasn’t at the request of my spouse, but my own preference.

like

Didn’t notice it until COVID because it was all we knew. Now can’t imagine going back to traveling 4 days/wk or even less than that.

like

I quit consulting immediately upon having a kid. Didn’t think travel would work with the amount of support I wanted to give my spouse and our philosophy on how we wanted to parent. A lot of it is really lifestyle dependent.

Yes and Yes, glad that we stopped traveling. Now that we are probably expected to get back traveling sometime again in the future, I’m looking for an exit strategy

like

Lolz. Every week. Every week.

Of course it affected my kids and spouse. I eventually moved to an internal role with minimal travel.

pre covid i hated leaving my kids.... post covid i can not travel monday to thursday

Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?

Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?
