When I got pregnant my coach told me we aren't performing brain surgeries, and to do what I had to do for my well being and the baby's. They were very supportive and understanding. We're not saving lives here in PA, so there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to attend doctors appointments or work from home a bit more often then usual. That was my experience.
Family, including your baby, come first. If your team isn't understanding, get a new team! I haven't met anyone who isn't understanding of pregnancy, so if you meet someone like that, realize it's not typical and they are horrible people.
Thank you all. I know family is important. I had my first before starting in PA, had a high risk pregnancy with many dr visits. I just want to succeed both at home and at work. Planning no 2 and just want to do it right.
@KPMG1 - Congratulations!!! Wish you an easy one and all the happy moments next to your soon to be larger family!
If you work somewhere where you even have to worry about that question, I would consider where you work. It is doable and happens all the time in PA.
Your health, family, and baby come first. I went through two years of fertility treatments (which included entirely too many doctor appointments) - finally got pregnant and currently in my first trimester. I haven't told anyone at my office about the fertility treatments and waiting until the second trimester to share the news. Whenever I've had an appointment I just tell my team I have a doctor appointment and I'll be back online as soon as I'm done. My team is very accommodating about doctor appointments, and in return I try to come in early or stay later to make up the time on the days I do have appointments.
