In august I’m coming up to 1 year anniversary at work. I wfh and reside in Houston. I’m feeling underpaid for the 7 years of experience I have in immigration. It is a small firm with 1 attorney, and 3 paralegals. No benefits and making 45k. Attorney completely relies on me for everything court related as her go to. Oof. Crying like crazy. My in laws called me and were insanely emotionally abusive about my grief. It’s Father’s Day and we had a wedding to go to. I didn’t expect to be this affected but something triggered my grief. So I didn’t go. They called me and said such toxic things and implied I need “help”. Yes it’s been 2 years but I also do a lot for my family and husband and others. It’s very rare that my grief gets triggered. I’m allowed to have 1 bad day out of 365.
