LEK London fish, what are your thoughts on the level of diversity in the office? L.E.K. Consulting
What’s your gender, age, & city? After dropping your info, respond to others in your area
Thoughts on ad agency diversity data, now that it’s being released? “Across the entire (Havas) organization in the U.S., 6.11% of employees are Black, 10.8% are Hispanic or Latino and 9.66% are Asian.”
This diversity thing is almost a joke....seriously. A lady says her goal is to focus on promoting women and she is celebrated. What if a man said the same thing regarding men....? where is fairness?
Are we just not acknowledging AAPI Month? I haven’t seen any comms. on this and yet our social handles are posting about World Diversity Day? Come on.
Have competing offers from EY and KPMG UK Economic advisory teams( Manager/Snr Exec level). KPMG's UK technical rep and comp offer is better, but the hours appear longer. EY UK Director has had several calls selling culture (diversity and work life balance). Is there actually a substantive emphasis on this by EY? Or are 50+ hour weeks quite common? I suspect it's going to be quite team dependent/ project dependent, and therefore a gamble in any case. Thanks for any perspectives.
Asians in Advertising! Want to know what the Asian representation is at other agencies? We just launched the Agency DEI Database to standardize diversity data and measure progress for the industry. Hope it’s helpful and help us spread the word! 🙏 @agencyDEI on LI and IG www.AgencyDEI.com
Do NOT claim you are "colorblind" in the workplace. 1. DE&I knowledge is now a core leadership competency. Colorblind claims will earn you the reputation of being DEI-ignorant at best & racist at worst. 2. Colorblindness within the context of workplace diversity is an obvious lie. You do NOT want to be painted as an intellectually dishonest leader. 3. Colorblind claims signal that you lack the leadership skills & vocabulary to have key conversations. Ask questions here, in this safe space.
Is QEF inclusion dividend or not? Sometimes, I see QEF inclusion reported on Line 11i and sometimes on Line 6a. I think we can rely on Sec. 1293(c) but I think it’s not foolproof. My hunch is since QEF regime is tailored to treat the PFIC similar to domestic mutual funds, we should not treat the QEF inclusion as dividends. Any help is appreciated.
Hi! First time working with a larger company - suggestions on handling pronouns at work? I’ve worked with smaller agencies where it was easier to bring up. Now I’m on a larger team, talking to/referencing people I’ve never met. I’m less concerned about my own pronouns and more concerned about how to make sure I’m using the correct pronouns for the people I work with. I’ve been structuring sentences to avoid gender specific pronouns but would love to hear suggestions. Thanks!
How is the diversity in leadership, employees, etc… at the other consulting firms? I am at Deloitte (USDC) in FL and it’s primarily Indians.
Hello Everyone, I am looking to hire a couple of technical sources who have a keen interest in diversity. I am building out a diversity sourcing team to support AWS AI/ML practice. Great opportunity with lots of visibility. Let me know if you are interested in learning more.
Black consultants (primarily in the US but question is open!) - what’s your honest perception of OW from an I&D / diversity point of view?
If you are interested to talk with some opposite gender person outside of your team in ZS, how would you approach them/initiate the conversation? What tricks do you use
For those here who are young and single, how would you respond and what would you think if somebody attractive of the gender you date started making small talk with you at the grocery store or liquor store? I am desperate to meet people in person but not sure how this will come across
Is W+K really the fairytale land of diversity in advertising or do they just do a good job of acting like it?
GT’s D&I event is today... it’s so uncomfortable listening to so many old white men try to talk about diversity. Do better, GT.
Any programs that are state-funded and working with inclusion? We have a start up inclusion, part-day classroom this year.
How is it at the BDO Boston office? Is there diversity in people and what is usually the number one complaint?
Hi all, Need help with a resume review referral or another resource (cover letter critique, etc) you've used that helped you get a job. Sibling finished up MAin UK (History) w/ 2YOE, now back in US, and has comms/event management/program management experience. But she's having difficulty getting any interviews in the Northeast areas. It's been about 6 months now, and any resources y'all have would be greatly appreciated.
Had an American flight to Miami for Friday. Now: we now have a free flight and stay for Tuesday-Thursday. We want to get our money back for the Friday flight, but didn’t purchase insurance. Can we use the COVID situation to our advantage, i.e. are airlines still letting your do crazy reschedules/get refunds etc? Just curious if there’s any magic we can make happen here to get our money back or fly out at a much later date.
Hi everyone - I’ve been on fishbowl for a couple months now. I see that this bowl gets no attention. Why do we think that is? Is that bc CS in general gets little attention? Does anyone else feel that CS leaders are the catch-all? Are all CS teams underwater? Not trying to stir the pot, just curious if others feel this way. Also, would love to get some conversations going!
Should I buy nyc real estate? I’m 24, have no debt, and currently TC is 150k. Currently, I have 110k in savings + 401k and just started to get into investing. By June 2021, I’ll have at least 150k from savings, 401k, etc. I just got started investing this month in the stock market but now I’m thinking about real estate. There are condos in JC and brooklyn for 400k which doesn’t seem too bad but dont know if I’m being way unrealistic. I’d appreciate any advice!
I have an offer from 1. Sapient 2. EPAM 3. Incedo Irrespective of salary I want to know which is good based upon learning curve and job security.

Not interested in going up any further to MD/Partner. I’m content at my current level with my work/life balance. Will I ever be forced out at one point? If so, how long do I have?
What's a normal salary range for juniors in LA?
Do any real people actually want schools to reopen as it stands now? Im hearing so much about it but it feels like a weird disconnected political thing and not a live humans with kids thing. *Obv the goal is to get covid under control so kids can go back safely, this is assuming infection rates stay steady or continue to climb
