Pretty sick of my boss using “I” in reference to things “we” did. The worst part? She’s also a woman and always complains about male coworkers doing stuff like that...she’s just as guilty!!

My last boss, a woman, tone policed me and asked me to hold my opinions back from people senior to me. Ironically, she majored in feminist studies.

Monkey see, monkey do. Some people don’t realize their own behaviors until another person points it out. Maybe consider mentioning it to her. She clearly doesn’t mention it to the male coworkers she complains about, so everyone is just sitting around oblivious to their behaviors. I highly encourage you to break this cycle of cluelessness.

I would recommend against saying anything to her. It might help her but it won’t help you.

I catch myself every time I start to say I. I usually do it before my mouth says it. I guess it could be a vestige of feeling isolated or not leading a team? Sucks and no one should do it

Anyone have a sensitive stomach? Id love to hear some explanations from the crowd that aren’t a serious medical condition - just an above average sensitivity. I don’t think I have IBS, but I get really triggered by certain foods and they just run right through me. Some triggers I know (too much cream / fat, or conversely a large amount of raw vegetables) but other times it feels really random.

Looking for recommendations for a rear facing car seat that reclines well. Currently have a Nuna rava. My first was fine with it, but my 2nd (who is 1+) seems to get car sick and pukes on longer trips. She loves her nuna pipa infant seat though (basically lying down) and never gets sick in that. We're keeping her in the pipa for as long as possible, but I need to find a convertible option soon. Curious what other moms in similar situations picked.

Been with my s/o for 13 years. We have had a lot of ups and downs. She had a really rough upbringing which caused severe anxiety and depression. I tried splitting up but I could sense she was unraveling and we'd always end up back together. Eventually I felt so stuck/got so sick of it that I went to grad school out of state (wasn't the right move i know but I couldn't get through to her that it was taking a toll). Long distance sucked, and her depression turned into suicidal behavior. (Cont).

Does anyone know someone who was placed on a pip who then found a way to get on medical leave so could apply to jobs while still employed? (Idea being that you greatly extend your opportunity to look for jobs while still being able to say you’re at current firm. Example: Person gets 1 month pip, gets medical leave, then is able to look for new jobs for many months rather than 1 month. If you don’t know anyone, any opinions on how this could work?

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
