Hi Guys,
Any tips on
to transfer from the Middle East office to a US office (family is shifting there), given that there is not a formal transfer pathway?
2. Anyway to connect with top consulting firms (tier 1 and tier 2) in the US office ? I am currently at a Boutique firm. The issue is my university is recognized by some top firms in the Middle East firms but not so much globally
TIA

Joined PwC from industry at age 30. I would say stick with it for a couple years before jumping ship. The transition is tough, particularly navigating the culture, but I think it gets easier and hard to really assess after 1 year. You need momentum with your internal network and time to understand platforms and offerings
I came from industry too little over a year ago, like you said the work is great but lifestyle is not especially the travel part. But I donāt think Iāll go back to industry anytime soon because the things I am learning here donāt think would have gotten the same opportunities in industry even in a 100 years. In a nutshell itās all about your priorities.
Thanks for your input P1. Thatās what Iām struggling with. Iām learning so much but the lifestyle is exhausting and i feel like my relationships are suffering. Need to really think it through over the next few months.
Thanks again!
Came to consulting from industry at age 30. Fine with the work, though sometimes I do think itās completely pointless work in the grand scheme of things. At 32, Iām totally exhausted from the travel. Looking for new opportunities now either internally (non-travel engagements ) or industry
Also came in from industry. Doing really well but have been drinking and hanging out way too much. Travel is easy for me
Iām in this spot now. I plan to get 2 years or so in consulting and then to back to industry. My health and personal life suffers too much in consulting
only been in it for a year now and I love the work Iām doing but I donāt think the lifestyle is for me. Thinking of looking for other opportunities in the next 6 months. Any words of wisdom or experiences appreciated.
I left industry when I was 41 for consulting. Iām 1 1/2 yrs in and Iāve been exposed to some really cool industries but I feel itās too generalized for me I will 100% go back to industry within the next 9-12 months.
Been doing it for 3 years now and pretty sure itās crushing my creativity. Not sure what to do because Iām pretty good at this thing
