See, if you look at Bernie's voting history and personal commitment to the causes, he is the only candidate I trust to follow through on these progressive promises. I mean, the man marched with Martin Luther King. He understands that systematic racism has lead us to where we are today in regards to teacher turnover in city schools. Furthermore, we need a systematic change to how we approach industry and agriculture in our country. Too many kids are being funneled into college in order to feed privatized loans. We need a healthy and comprehensive job market to offer our students when they graduate. I believe only Bernie could have the commitment to see that through. He understands that we need better unions to challenge the status quo, not just a really smart guy who is isolated in the White House, unable to enact change due to political isolation. It seems that Bernie is the only one Trump fears because Bernie is his antithesis.
Btw-- this research states it more eloquently than I can. I'm not claiming to be an expert, but i do dream of creating a better, stronger nation. I do think of the Scandinavian countries as examples that I would strive for.
"There are no countries that are 100% socialist, according to the Socialist Party of the United Kingdom.3 Most have mixed economies that incorporate socialism with capitalism, communism, or both.
The five Nordic countries -- Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland -- have strong socialist systems.4 The state, on behalf of the people, own a large percentage of the economy. It spends a large portion on education, housing, and public welfare. A large percentage of its workers are unionized, granting them greater power. Last but not least, these countries are democracies, allowing the general population input into decision-making.
But these countries also incorporate many aspects of a capitalistic economy. As a result, its inhabitants are among the richest in the world. The average wealth per person is above $100,000.5"

My belief is that the people who would be the best qualified to be president stay out and we are stuck with the leftovers in all parties. Good luck.
It’s really tough. I want a sampling of all the democratic candidates to make one candidate.
Warren was actually a teacher and her plans for education reflect her understanding of the importance of having an actual teacher in the position DeVos is defacing.
Bernie says all teachers should make at least 60,000 and I support that 100%
I’m open to all. I like mayor Pete best tho.
I wonder if anyone is pondering how all these "free" programs and minimum wage guarantee monies will be funded. I don't believe for a second my tax burden won't increase. Also, a fact you may not realize if you don't live anywhere near our Canadian neighbors, or haven't had the "pleasure" of being in a hospital in England-where they have "free" health care-there is a reason the Canadians pay out of pocket to come to the U.S. for treatment rather than sit on an extremely long waiting list for care in Canada (and many times die before they get it)-and people in England who want good health care pay twice-their normal taxes that pay for their "free"health care, as well as they pay doctors again out of their pocket. I don't know when people began forgetting free isn't ever truly free.
