Anyone know NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) well & willing to zoom tutor for an hour? Would like to hear about it in a practical sense, big 4 or similar preferred. Will venmo $125 💵☺️
I’m wondering what Accenture is actually doing. Is it more like a Big 4 Firm, doing theoretical consulting things. Or is it more a IT-Service/ Outsourcing company like Connection, Atos, Bechtle, etc. doing hands on technical things? Where is the main focus on?
Trying to move from midtier to big 4 - is it better to leave after 1 yoe or 2 yoe (after you hit senior)?
Does anyone think in a few years the structure of public accounting firms will change? It seems like the younger generation is not sucked into the “big 4 brand” and actually value work life balance that involves no busy season.
Recently started B4 accounting advisory - my projects keep getting delayed or cancelled and for the last few months I’ve only worked about two weeks. My next engagement just got cancelled and now I’m seriously worried about my utilization and about getting fired after just starting. My counselor was aware of my situation but didn’t mention too much about it and I’ve been reaching out + letting people know I’m available this whole time. Don’t know what else to do and how concerned I should be
Which of the big 4 + ACN pay the most for SAP?
Offer for 110k + promotion to hop to another B4. 40% jump from current comp but high % chance of promotion in a couple months and clearly defined career path/strong support here. Worth it?
Up for promotion to manager, have an offer to leave Big 4 for a 35% pay bump. Would you try to negotiate if you know others who have jumped to the same company for 15% more?
A goal of mine is to leave my PA firm (one of the big 4) this year. Currently in my fourth busy season. Do you think I should wait until getting promoted to senior and leave right after, or leave after this spring busy season? I am not super eager to get a senior position because with Covid and the inevitable learning curve, I don’t feel equipped to accept one. So I was thinking of applying for entry positions. Any advice?
In the final round of interview with a San Fran startup that’s about to go IPO... but I know I’d be also giving up lots of the structures & project flexibility & diversity offered here at big 4. What rationale would you use to make a decision?
6 years work experience as a Senior Manager at Big 4 with solid project experiences/fast track promotions. 3.6 GPA top 15 school in business. 680 GMAT. Any chance at M7 FT?
Anyone knows what's the equivalent of the capital markets function of Accenture in the big 4? Would it be S&o for Deloitte? How about the rest?
To the big 4 folks. How bad does you portfolio suffer since you can’t hold securities for companies your firm audits?
Where do more boutique firms (like Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, Huron, zs, slalom) rank in comparison to big 4 or Accenture or ibm? I know mbb is top tier but I feel like everyone else is debatable
Anyone here works for IRS Seattle office? Looking to get out of B4. Currently a manager in investment tax. CPA, no law degree. Would like to get a general idea of how to approach the application process. Nothing seems to be open currently.
How can the Big 4 expect analysts to work so many hours for not much pay? $70k starting salary with no bonus potential working 12 hours per day when industry jobs pay slightly less and are 9-5?
Started at Deloitte today as a consultant. How do I put myself in a position to attend a top notch B School in 2-3 years?
I see a lot of open position for PwC AMS. Can any one share the work culture in PwC AMS service line. Do they have ticket management projects or is it more of enhancements to the existing WD application. What’s t the career path in AMS?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Pop Quiz - You have a large family with kids 7 and under. Family time is very important to you and you are financially stable (no mortgage/debt & solid savings). The ultimate goal is to save enough for the kids college, retire early, and travel. Do you choose a higher salary career that involves a lot of travel which takes you away from your family but gets you to your end goal sooner? Or do you take a lower salary career with minimal travel and flexibility to spend time with your family?
Coming from a traditional consulting background, would applying R2 instead of R1, quality of app held constant, make a meaningful difference? Heard the advice to apply only as soon as your app is ready, but does the round make more of a difference if your work experience is undifferentiated? Tyia :)
Hot take: All white collar jobs should be 100% remote. All these boomers at the helm are making that impossible by thinking that we need to be at a client site or office to work. This last year and a half has shown that we don’t need to be physically there
Team, made through 4 rounds at SF for a non technical role. Next is a panel presentation. How much weight does it have in the process? Also, I just got a promotion at my company. Will SF consider what I am making or they are hard to negotiate? At least RSU? Background: this role is hard to fill due to multilingual requirement. I am almost certain I am the only candidate.
