I don't know how much B4 partners make in SEA but significantly less than MBB partners is my guess, so mid-term (3-5 years), the MBB is a better option IF you make it to partner. You should negotiate and ask for a guaranteed promotion or a senior commitment from the regional managing partner to supporting you (even if they are not able to commit to a guaranteed promotion in writing). I've seen it happen, even with a verbal commitment, if it's from the managing partner.

Also from SEA. Happy to chat with you on DM and provide perspectives.

Would love to hear this as well... BCG1 do you want to share openly? Also in Singapore and have been speaking to MBB

Apparently not

The odds of there being a longer term are higher at Big 4.

Agree with P1. Also, MBB are also much harder for external hires - the processes are designed for people to grow within the firms.

Go MBB. If it doesn’t work out, big 4 a good fall back option, and you’ll have better negotiating ability after the MBB stint.

I declined an AP offer from one of the MBB in SE Asia. Not BCG obviously. DM for more details, happy to share my thinking

Please share TC

Was in the partner program at a big 4 before choosing to try building something here at RB as a Principal. Overall in SEA the partner comp in big 4 for someone being recruited directly from outside as a Partner is relatively competitive. The challenge or the question is the type of partnership you want to be a part of. Big 4 partnership comp model and culture is not as performance driven. Leading to a disproportionate time in managing upwards and globally to get leads and recognition. At the same time if you are in it for the very long haul, big 4 have the cash and patience. Partnership in T2 firms can be very challenging as the scale demands you to be a rainmaker. DM if you’d like details.

Does anyone from the Cyber practice of BCG Platinion care to share what the recruitment process is like? Currently in the process of making the switch from the cyber practice at a Big 4 to BCG Platinion.

Anyone seeking or thinking about doing a big 4 change to Deloitte in the DC/NOVA/MD area? Why might you be attracted to Deloitte vice where you already are?

Thinking of leaving PwC.... and had some questions. Do they pay out your vacation time and if.you.go to another B4 and they say "no thanks" when you give.your two weeks, do they lay that out as well?

Anyone go from Big 4 to RSM in Texas? RSM is growing pretty quickly and acquiring lots of regional firms. Is that a red flag? Care to share your experience in terms of culture and hours?

I’ve been tasked by my old school white partner to think of ways staff can be helped to over come racial challenges at big 4. I’m honestly having trouble thinking of ways they can help us.

I'm a PhD student (graduating next year) looking to pursue consulting (ideally at MBB or Big 4). I would love to learn about full-time opportunities in New York starting 2023

Curious about the number of people on here that make $250k+. I see the absurd compensation numbers that get thrown around on the consulting bowl as if $250k is the new $100k and I’m beginning to wonder if the data is skewed between whites and blacks? I’m not seeing these sort of compensation numbers in my circles. Am I grossly underpaid? For reference, I’m a Top 10 MBA, big 4, SM 2 @ $195 base and ~40k bonus.

How often are B4 supply chain and ops teams traveling? Obviously depends on the project, but any rough estimates?

Those of you in B4 who absolutely hate it, how are you dealing?

Leaving B4, 2.5 YOE, SC with an MBA and military background for a regional healthcare tech consulting firm. They’re very small and niche (a bit worried about brand name in the future) but they’re offering a 40% pay increase to push me from under 80k to over 110k. Is it worth negotiating the salary if I don’t entirely feel I have enough tech exp for the position to start? If it was a much larger place with HR/recruiters id have no problem, but I interviewed with the CEO directly.

Hi Sharks, I already have offer from EPAM systems, IBM, and CTS. CTS is offering me 14 LPA fixed and EPAM is ready to pay 16 LPA fixed. Now In my salary discussion call with pwc india they are matching my offer from CTS i. e 14 lpa. They are saying they are from big 4 and have brand image. I ask for at least 15.5 lpa and told her if they can not afford that they can drop my candidature. What's your views on this? Am I right here and which company will you go in this case?

Are there any downsides to working for A&M? I keep getting messages from their recruiters and I’m pretty tempted. However I’ve got a pretty good gig at my current firm - culture is great, I work reasonable hours, and I feel well paid. I know the money will obviously be better over at A&M but do I stand to lose my work life balance/culture? Alvarez & Marsal

Hi Fishes, I am basically stuck while taking a decision. Two weeks back, I have joined the big 4. Now I have an offer from capgemini offering me around 4 L more that my current ctc. Should I consider moving to capgemini considering WLB. Will big 4 release me as I am still being onboarded. Also If they ask me to serve notice, will capgemini wait for me during notice period at big 4. Please help guys.

B4 Assurance Staff 2 - I’ve applied to a couple of low level (2 yrs experience) consulting positions at another B4 but haven’t heard back. Is it risky to reach out via LinkedIn directly to the other firm’s recruiter and ask what I can do to make myself a more attractive option? I want to know what certs/resume builders I need to get there

I am working for 12-14 hours a day in a non client facing role at one of the big 4. What are some of the exit opportunities I can think of in the next 1-2 years? I want to have a 9-6 job with decent pay.

I went to b school and joined a strategy group for big 4. I’ve been on a project for 7-8 months with no end in sight. It’s very operational, and my work stream is not a primary driver of the business

Hey fishes! Need some guidance here, currently working at a top 10 firm, I like the IT audit work, I enjoy my team, but I’m feeling like this will be my last busy season here as I want to try some place different + get better pay. My main question is… should I go for a big 4 for 1-2 years to gain that experience in my resume and then jump to industry or should I jump to industry directly? TIA

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.

Planning to provide 2 week notice that will put me at an end date of a Monday/Tuesday. Will EY typically ask me to leave at the end of the week prior (Friday) or will they let me finish on a Monday/Tuesday

If I have two or 3 kids, I'm gonna definitely organize them
