Probably a silly question but when you get your H1 renewed first time and you travel out of country do you need to get it stamped again to get back in US? If you are with the same company?

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?

Anyone here who has rescheduled several times their visa interview appointment w/ embassy outside US. Allowed to schedule twice w/o penalty. On the 3rd time, it needs to be cancelled. Does yours say to wait 90 days to rebook and were you able to book immediately on the 91st day? Just wanted to know what you’ve went through ie, if there are other requirement needed when you cancel and then use the MRV fee.

Arrived at a SPG property last week and had email confirmation and booking in the app but hotel didn’t have it - manager blamed merger IT issues, anybody else experienced this recently?

I have to travel to my client every week and the client’s office is attached to a very nice hotel that’s $250 per night. There’s a hotel right across the street that’s $150 per night.. it’s alright, but not as great. Should I be mindful about how much I’m spending or should I blow up the budget until someone says something?

For anyone that moved to the US a bit later in life (early 30s), do you feel like you are financially behind retirement now by United States standards?

My home country offers free health care, education, affordable living etc and now i’m in the US the only way I think I’ll ever catch up for retirement is by making Partner salary one day but still living like I’m on a Manager salary to save.

Plus on a visa we cannot have other income. This is going to be a long game of catch up.
