Depends on the situation— is it work? Personal? Being able to identify what you find difficult about a certain task is a great first step.

get a cell phone jail that has timer on it. lock it for the workday or for 4 hrs twice a day. put limit on time spent on social media on your phone, have a friend or family do it for you and not tell you the password. that'll help will a lot of distractions. Also make lists - master list of all things you need to do. then look at the beginning of every week and put one task for each day or every couple days. try to accomplish it.

I find that sticking to a strict routine really helps me. I set timers for everything so that I can really stay on task. If I vary away from my routine it really throws everything off so I try to stick to it no matter what.

I got an offer from a top 5 bank with the following details.

92k base salary
10% target annual bonus
No signing bonus

I am going to counter with 100k and 8k signing bonus and provide them with my reasoning. The salary range on the job posting is 84k - 99k - 109k. Is 8k more insulting? Should I ask for 102k? The recruiter told me they are targeting low 90s when we first started talking, fyi. I also heard this company doesn't do signing bonuses so we will see about that.

I was offered X$ as a salary for a supervisor role. I asked for 10k more as a counter and received a greater breakdown of the correct pay being offered. With bonuses and shift diff it comes to maybe 5k more. That is only if the bonuses and overtime bonuses kick in. Do I still go with my original counter? This is very confusing for me.

Lately I have changed my thoughts on ADD/ADHD. This conundrum that affects is truly a "Super power" when harnessed effectively there is almost nothing you can't do. Many of the issues and complaints I see are from people that are shaped like clouds trying to fit into a geo metric world. I have been dealing with this for over 40 years and have had various positions. Please share your thoughts.

I am trying to get an ADHD diagnosis, as my primary care and myself both think I could have it (runs in the fam). How many of y’all got diagnosed by a psychiatrist? Or did you have to do the extensive 4ish hour testing?

My psychiatrist said most psychiatrists won’t diagnose + give meds for adhd but the testing can get so expensive so I want to know if I should see someone else

Everyone in the comments said more productive at home and I'm curious if this bowl would have a different consensus. I'm way more productive in the office, although I don't go that often, so maybe it's the change of scenery that helps.

How to read diligently when on stimulants? Does anyone find it very difficult to slow down how fast they read something and as a result miss critical data points that change their story? If so, what do you do?

Anyone had luck finding a good therapist who actually understands ADHD? Getting advice like "try taking a walk every day" and "practice these breathing exercises" is driving me crazy. I need actual solutions and shit, not just platitudes and internet worksheets.

I have a manager that does not seem to understand mental illnesses, disorders, etc. He thinks I am making excuses rather than trying to explain things (I have diagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and depression) and I’m trying to take ownership for issues but also help him understand what I am describing better as well. We are sitting down for a conversation later this week. Any advice on how to gently educate or help with his understanding of neurodivergence and other mental health considerations?

I don't know for sure that this is an ADHD thing but does anyone else get really irritated by small things or have trouble regulating their emotions? Especially when you take a day off from medication? I feel like the smallest thing can piss me off, especially in the AM. Am I just not a morning person or this a symptom?
