Send the work but don't ask to get coffee. Personally I'm more inclined to spend 5 minutes looking at the work than I am to get coffee with every person who emails
Get onboard with an edit house. It will make your life much easier
Editor. Post a link to your work here. You’ve got a captive audience now.
The last thing I want to be is some needy guy in your inbox.
I don’t look at cold emails. And I can’t remember the name of or worked with any director that’s ever cold called me, but there have been quite a few
Maybe reach out to reps if you need that extra boost. I do look at every link that’s sent after I request them.
And the reasoning behind all of it is it gets overwhelming to try and keep up with all the people out there in the first place, there’s a ton of talent that can do the job that’s repped, and cold calling us annoying and adds more to the clutter.
