Hi All, I recently interviewed at Amazon and Google for software engineer and passed both interviews. I have an offer on the table from Amazon but with Google I am officially in team matching and my recruiter tells me that the queue is pretty backed up now and it can take a long time. My question is should I take the Amazon offer now or decline Amazon and hold out for Google? I have heard that Google has better wlb/benefits. But I'm scared to decline Amazon without a guaranteed job offer.

Don’t mention it unless asked, if they do let them know you disagreed on the direction.
Wouldn’t mention it unless they do. And even then, I wouldn’t speak on how much you disagreed. You’ll get into disagreements no matter where you work, but it should rarely result in leaving the company. If you speak about it too much, you could come off as someone who isn’t able to disagree and commit (Amazon leadership principle) as a member of a team. They may think you’d rather run away anytime you don’t get your way. You obviously have great ideas, and I’m sure they felt like your babies, but that doesn’t mean you won’t come up with more. I’m sure they’re curious more about your ability to lead and collaborate successfully under pressure. Also, since then how have you grown your skills in negotiation and influence without authority.

I just interviewed a candidate who had left a position specific because of disagreements with CTO. I 100% understood his situation and it made perfect sense, but it still sunk his chances for the job (one of the interviewers was a CTO and so the story didn't play well at all).
I do think my situation is different since I have history with the specific product. But, still, I understand what you said.
I’d mention it and be transparent, but tactful and truthful, about the situation. It’s a good way to find out how much leadership/direction has changed. If they have a problem with this, you probably don’t want to work there anyway.
