Project is goin to mandate Labor Day weekend work do you: 1. Fight back in vain but at least you tried 2. Work because ‘get there at all costs’ 3. Not work and just ghost the weekend I’m sure there are other options

Not sure where C1 works where they can just pack up and leave on PTO in the middle of crunch time. SM1 is right.

If it's mandated you and your manager agree to a make up holiday

like

Be transparent and have a convo. Are you legit cancelling important plans? If not, the convo should be about when you all get that time back at a minimum. Losing a long holiday weekend should be worth a full week off soon after IMO.

It’s our first big SAP go live. And while I usually support the all hands on deck this leadership pushes weekend work for every stage: behind in test, behind in build, behind in load and people are burned out. Honoring 1 US holiday shouldn’t bring us to the ground for go-live

Do that sh”t and take extra days when it’s over.

So ideally this would be good but I already have too much PTO so flexing time won’t help, and we’re in a multiple release model and they just keep pushing weekend work across multiple releases

Yeah book a longer vacation the week or so after

Hey everyone - when is the most appropriate time to alert a firm you are in a relationship with another co-worker? My SO and I are currently the same rank but one of us is up for promotion to manager this year end. I should also mention we are at the same client but on different projects. We currently don’t see this being a huge conflict of interest but perhaps this is naive thinking. We only recently began dating so that’s why we’re are unsure how to best approach. Would appreciate any insight.

I've recently been struggling to figure out what job is next and what I want to do with my career. I have 4.5 yoe, 3.5 years at PwC within tax/tax technology and 1 year within IT transformation, Agile/Change and Implementation work. I don't have many hard skills except for things like excel, PowerPoint, alteryx/tableau/powerbi, and struggling to find something that I want to do. I feel kind of stuck on current project and feel like I'm underpaid. Any advice or guidance on how to figure it out?

A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
