Been practicing a year now. Of 6 attorneys, 4 will be retiring soon, and I was brought in to hopefully take over. I am troubled: first that my partners largely provide me with no guidance. They handed me a client with a large quantity of fairly straightforward casework and have been hands off since. There also hasn’t been any talk of a raise/performance review. How should I ask for guidance/mentor ship? How do I ask for a raise, or should I presume one is coming?
Is senior promotion automatic in big 4? How do you not get promoted to senior? Do you have to be really bad not to get promoted to senior?
I left KPMG after 7 years after being passed over for Director promotion. I left to start a medical business. 3 months in, my partner and I grossed $130K in sales w/ a 60% margin. Consulting prepared us for this and I’m forever grateful for my experience. I’m honestly amazed at how well consulting skills translate to entrepreneurship. I’m sharing this to encourage anyone who’s been on the fence about starting their own thing. Go for it. Consulting will always be there if you need to fall back.
One Crunch or All Crunch plan? I don’t foresee myself going to multiple locations, but there’s a good promotion going on right now…
At what point did y’all let work know about pregnancy? Up for promotion this year want to get that promo which I’m cutting it close with yearly review.
Hi there. Earlier this year I laid out a business case for why I should get a raise & I asked for a $20-25k annual raise. I got $15k. I found out another person also asked for a raise around the same time. He didn’t give a business case, he just asked;he got the full amount he asked for ($70k). He is more senior than me, has been there longer, & we are not in the same function. However, something is just not sitting right with me about this situation. Any thoughts? Am I just over-analyzing?
Why do we complain sooooo much. Is that a generation thing (ie our generation complains more?) Did our parents raise us weird? How can we change this mindset because it’s really been weighing on me every where every ones always complaining: friends, coworkers, family, people on tv, Twitter, Fishbowl, tiktok
Accenture managers- what perks do you get after promotion?Cell phone bill, Amex card, lounge access.. Please enlighten me.. Want to get the chase reserve but don't want to pay if Amex premium covered
How do you mentally deal with the stress of this work and these (demanding Wall Street) clients? I’m a senior m&a associate leading multiple deals and every client wants a quick turn around and response times around the clock which is impossible to keep up for each one. I feel like im not giving the best service even though I’m working late nights and weekends. I’m close to promotion but wondering if I’m not cut out for this (seeing some health affects) or if all I need is a mindset change.

Human Capital Consultant up for promotion. Call with an Accenture recruiter tomorrow. On a digital enablement project with no SM and supervising others. How do I position? And at what level?
I have a union position as a therapist. My management kept telling me "we're working on it" when I asked about a raise since getting my LPC. Our union contract does not renew until 7/1 of next year. I brought this to my supervisors attention and now the director emails me to say basically "yes, we are working on a raise but nothing can happen until 7/1/2022". Has anyone else had this experience? Of management being vague and just stringing people along?
I received a job offer (to go to another consulting firm) for a 31% raise. What are the chances my current firm (B4) matches? What’s the best way to provide notice?
There's a lot of backstory to this but I can only type so much SO I've been with my company for 10.5 hours and just found out they've increased their base pay for starting employees $3-5/hr. I have received my annual 3-4% raises, only because I always make sure to ask for it, but nothing more. They didn't even acknowledge my 10 year anniversary with the company and it's a pretty small company (less than 100 employees). I feel I should get a $3-5/hr raise since the base pay was raised. Thoughts?
