👀 Still looking for an apartment swap in NYC. I have a clean apartment in Mexico City. The dates are October 27th to November 3rd, Day of the Dead holiday weekend. With LOTS happening. Located in the best area of Mexico City with a ton of restaurants, cafes, and parks. High speed internet with standing desk, large TV, external monitor, and more. Message me your email or phone number and we can text to exchange pictures and more information.
Ive been on high intensity projects since June of 2020 and I am so grateful but I am exhausted....I need time off, but my current team seems really intense and doesn’t take well to people taking off. What can I do?
Do people manage to use vacation homes with school age children, or just rent them out most of the year?
My PTO was approved for the Thanksgiving & Christmas weeks but I’m totally clueless about the vacation spot given the pandemic situation. Requesting your recommendations. Warm places preferably! Thinking of Hawaii/Keywest
Ladies, what are you planning on wearing to the holiday party? I never know what to wear to 'festive' work events.
Just got an industry offer for 15% bump - do you think it's fine to put my notice now effective Jan or will they let me go earlier to avoid holiday pay?
Left consulting 4 months ago. Firm emails me today, filing claim on a 7 month old expense item. I don’t have access to old email and receipts thrown after I got PTO payout. How to dispute this?
Just got offered a new job. Ideally, I really want to help my current company as much as I can and be there through cyber week (11/30) before leaving. I also want to take time off between jobs because I am so burnt out. Is early December way too far away of a start date to propose to the new job? Will they look at me like I’m crazy?
Before people come at me, I typically don’t take much PTO so I’m not entirely sure how this works. If I am one or two days short of what I have left would I just go into a deficit? Or will it not allow me to even put the request in?
I started last October as a junior (moved over after 3 years in B4 accounting). Have worked nearly every day since then except for the occasional Sunday when I decided to blow off work I probably should have been doing. I desperately need a vacation, but have no clue what that even looks like with Covid, WFH, and Biglaw life in general. It also feels super hard to take a break because it seems like no one in my group ever does. Not sure whether I'm posting to gripe or seeking advice...
How are firms handling the economic downturn in terms of billable hour requirements for associates? Are annual billable requirements being updated or mitigated in any way? Curious to see how other firms are handling this issue, and also afraid of not being able to take any time off until 2021 😳
Are holidays (unlike vacation days) excluded from the denominator of the utilization formula?
PTO at a lake house with a few friends in late October. Are there any Airbnb deals we should leverage? It’s not too pricey once it’s spread across 6 people, but wanted to check in case there’s more
I took a positive pregnancy test this morning (yay!) after a four-day vacation that involved way more than my fair share of drinking. I’d taken a pregnancy test the day I left for vacation and it was negative. While I am so excited about the positive test, especially after miscarrying several months ago, I can’t help but feel totally guilty and worried I may have affected the baby. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has experienced this and whether my anxiety is warranted!
EY what’s the catch with unlimited PTO? Is it actually unlimited? Recent hire and just trying to figure out PTO for the holidays
Need an objective answer. In regards to benefits not including salary/bonus, such as: Expense policy Vacation days Work computer/phone Misc. Perks/bonuses Which of the Big4 is best?
My younger brother who is 18 years old thinks he knows everything and refuses to self-quarantine. He is still in high school and all of his friends are taking their time off as an opportunity to hang
Does anyone know the average base and bonus comp range for HR Director level (below VP) at Morgan Stanley ? The recruiter said that I am eligible for a bonus but it’s not in the offer letter and would not provide any details on an expected bonus range. Is this normal? If so, what is the average range for an HR Director bonus?
Got laid off from PA, picked up a temp role in fund accounting, hated the work and quit, got a role for 10k higher in internal audit and love it so far. The one thing I've learned from all of this is
Do you think this could be effective?
My kid is a med student and I'm pushing for her to spend some time in a radiology elective. Does that feel right? I think it's super useful
I have a 3 day headache from trying to meet crazy fucking 2 day reactive deadlines... Bc all of a sudden our client is walking all over us and client management is MIA
I just recently made manager at EY (this month) and a recruiter has reached out to me regarding an associate role at Kearney. When I asked about a manager role they mentioned that I hadn’t been a manager long enough to qualify me for that role. Is it fair to have to drop in rank when making the transition from Big4 to somewhere like Kearney? Also what’s Kearney like as place to work at?
Any recs for office chair within $100 range? Asking for a baby sister who’s a broke college student. Doesnt have to b fancy/super fancy but something that r of decent quality… i know its a stretch to ask for this budget🤣
Was recently placed in a highly technical position. I’ve been trying to understand how parts are linked for past 5 weeks but I’m still struggling. I don’t want to quit cont....

Travel expectations: Im going to try a bunch of great local restaurants on yelp! Travel reality: What haven't I gotten from room service yet....
Flying Delta for the first time in a while. Definitely a different crowd and a pretty nice aircraft. Delta stepping up. Usual United flyer
A good indicator of a bad day is drinking Sutter Home from the Hilton Garden Inn pantry.
Wow, LAX. 30 mins for an uber. Taxi line across the terminal. Guess I'll be hanging out here for a while... at least the weather is beautiful!
Open to exploring my options for going indep. 8 year vet at EJ w/$150m AUM ($90m fee-based), & a CFP. Not unhappy @ EJ but not able to be a true planner. How do I compare all the options?
I’m frequently upgraded to first class on delta (platinum status).... do I get access the the sky lounge if I’m upgraded?
I’m 36, earn 100k and I work maybe 30 hours a week, and I’m a shining star. It allows me to enjoy life without stress. I can linger around and see myself (slowly) climbing the ladder. But part of me wants to put in hard work and grow a lot in my career and earn more for a stable financial future, but it means I’ve got to work more and stress more and I’m worried I won’t get time to relax and enjoy my life as before. But also I’m worried I’ll slack off. Anyone going through this? Would I regret?
Flight from LAX to BOS delayed AGAIN #&@!?&!
