Just do it, pick a target date fund and let it be. If they match, it's free money. I can't think of any cons

like

Agree. At a minimum put in enough to maximize the company match.

I personally put in like 13%, think about it this way. You have 200-300 less to spend every month (helps you budget yourself) which in turn will compound for around 40 years and it's worth a heck of a lot more

like

Maximise contributions to such schemes. Let the time value of money work for you. Believe me, it may be a long time before you retire, but you'll look back and think it was the best decision you made.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??
