To those who have an HSA and who are able to cap the contributions each year, what account balance would you need in order to not cap the contributions, or to no longer contribute at all? California tax question. I moved overseas in November 2020 establishing a rental agreement in a different country. I sold my California registered car in May 2021 (my ONLY California asset). In total, I spent ~36 days in California during 2021. I use my mother's California house as an address to receive packages and letters. I don't intend to return to California, as I want to buy a house in Texas. I have a potential $70,000 CA tax bill due to capital gains from a long-term investment.

Does ESPP make sense? Most companies deduct a portion from monthly paycheck to accrue over a period and then do the purchase at offering end. During this period of time, most tech stocks would already appreciated anyway to offset the 15% discount. Anyone with me?

529 NY question. I want to setup an account for my daughter. Planning to contribute $10K to maximize the tax deduction as a married couple.
(1) Should my wife and I setup two accounts for our daughter with $5K each? Or ok to setup a single account under one of our names?
(2) Understand $10K is below the annual gift tax but 529 is considered a gift. Is it good practise to document this in some shape/form? Like a one page doc that my wife and I sign stating we gifted to a 529 $10K in 2022.
