Proteins shakes make me really gassy, but my nutrition plan calls for three protein shake a day.

3 protein shakes a day? That’s excessive.

You should always strive to get your protein from animal sources (meat, chicken, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt) unless you’re vegan.

If it’s making your gassy, that means you’re not digesting it well. You can try changing the type of protein: beef protein, hydrolized whey instead of whey isolate, pea protein, hemp protein, etc.


It might be all the fiber and superfoods in your protein powder. I also drink amazing grass and it had lots of protein plus more.

I’m just trying to achieve a certain amount of protein per day based on my body weight.

Protein shakes are the easiest way to achieve that considering I don’t eat dairy or meat

Do not go with plant based protein sources. Whey protein isolate is the key here. Casein proteins and “blended” proteins tend to give gas.

But regardless you shouldn’t even be drinking 3 protein shakes. Meal prep chicken, fish, beef. Whole Foods are your friend. Also IF and denser meals with less frequency will get you right.

Pea protein shreds my insides, too. I’d bet that’s your culprit. See a different nutritionist who can help you find plant-based solutions

Do you eat eggs? Rx bars could be an option (tho they’re gross), and siggi makes a great plant-based dairy-free yogurt that is high protein

What is your protein goal? I’m vegan and I shoot for 110-130grams per day and have no issues hitting that without meat or protein powder. Three shakes in a day seems excessive and not the optimal way to consume protein. Tofu, seitan, tempeh, edamame, beans, etc. Meal prepping makes things easier.

Probiotics and fiber help but they’ll probably make it worse first.

Agree with the others - toots are somewhat normal, embrace them. If they are too uncomfortable, try a different brand of protein until you weed out the ingredient that is the primary Toot Maker. Changing your overall ratios of protein, fiber, carbs could help. I’ve also found that sometimes something simple as eating certain veggies raw vs cooked or vice versa helps

How do you all pack your wet, stinky gym clothes? If they're dry I'm okay to just pack in a reusable bag. But when I workout an hour before packing and have a long trip home it is gross.


Debating on the peloton tread or the nordictrack commercial 2950. Also open to other options if there's a decent model that isn't so expensive. Peloton users: Newbie here. I’ve only done about 10 rides. Most are 30 min rides. Yep things are recurring- (1) my hands feel like they fall asleep after too long holding on to the bars. I have to shake them out as the ride goes on. It could be because the seat is angled too forward so I’m supporting myself with the handle bars.
