It took me a while, but I’ve gotten past these minor things that ultimately don’t matter. If I know what someone means and it’s not like they’re mispronouncing something that will make them look dumb in front of a client, I hold my tongue. I also stopped using words like forte where the more common pronunciation is technically wrong.

What I am saying is that only your anecdotal experience leads you to believe everyone in the sciences says “neesh”. It is still possible that many people in the sciences say “nitch”, you just haven’t met them. Remember we all went to law school 😂😂😂. Also see People v. Collins.
