my fav meme ever - instant friend prospect - hi!!
If your experience was that bad, it wasn't a true emergency.
Source: used to work in an ER
Thats not always true. I dont need to actually say why.
If you got slow service in the ER, it’s probably because you didn’t have a serious emergency. Next time try urgent care or telehealth for your not-as-severe healthcare needs.
I got shot in the stomach the other day but decided to go to the CVS MinuteClinic for optimal treatment
I’m pretty sure only emergency rooms have designated trauma centers to treat you fast when your life is on the line. Not sure what you are getting at.
I heard sometimes it’s better to come in with the ambulance and you can by pass waiting room. But that ride will cost like a rolls Royce ride
In certain states you can by pass the waiting room, been there.
This is 100% true in Canada sadly.

What did you do? Google how to treat yourself?

Especially not in January or July when the new interns start either.
You’re posting here, thus you are alive. Therefore, the emergency room did their job.

Naw if you don’t have insurance that is the only place to go.
Right. You should schedule an appointment right?
Where should we visit if we are facing a true emergency?

this is a funny movie called Munnabhai MBBS, about a gangster who decides to become a doctor
Calling your own doctor to have them call the hospital so they know your coming can help. Which is terrible. Had this done a few times, when each of my babies needed to be admitted when they were critically ill and for OB triage to treat me seriously vs send me home - my baby would’ve died born at home and I would’ve too but no big deal 🙃
And did you/“us” die or experience irreversible damage during those 3-4 hours?
Do you know the details of all the other cases present at the time and their level of urgency vs your level of urgency? Do you know the details of the staffing of that ER and the number of cases related to ER rooms available?
Have you/the rest of “us” gotten vaccinated per CDC guidance and supported others in your community doing so?
Do you support changes to the healthcare system to remove barriers for everyone to have easy, affordable access non-ER physicians?
Are you in Canada?
Chief
So there’s this thing called triage, and you were not an emergency
