Anxious *non*-depressive here — what treatments and medications are available and effective?

I get a horribly anxious reaction to the thought of interactions that I need to have as part of the normal course of my job. It’s plain, irrational fear, and I know it’s holding me back. But I’m generally otherwise happy.

Asking directly as I’m struggling to find posts that don’t have depression hand-in-hand (my heart goes out to you all). Thank you and take care everyone.

In August of 2019, I hit rock bottom. I was working at a T1 law firm as a summer associate, and was constantly drinking (before work, during work, and of course at all the after work social events). Things got so bad for me someone reported my drinking to HR and an investigation was launched. I have been sober since. But now I am applying to be admitted to the bar and the character and fitness committee is making me relive my darkest time on repeat. It is very triggering. (Contn in comments)

Question - moving out of my apartment next week. Immunocompromised, boosted, not trying to see people if I can avoid it. Realtors are calling every 20 minutes asking if they can show my apartment. I don’t want people in my apartment without me also there to avoid anything getting stolen. Could the landlord have any legitimate complaint if I say I’m not allowing any viewings until I move out due to safety concerns?

Everyone says we need to find "a cure for cancer" and YES, definitely, but there are so many different types that we need at least 50 separate cures. More complex than people give it credit for. What does everyone here think?

Echo and nuclear leaders and techs: is your facility 1) requiring COVID testing before exercise stress testing, 2) wear N95 and PPE, or 3) both testing and PPE?
Our clinic is removing the cost barrier of testing but staff are worried about risks since echo rooms don’t have HEPA or negative pressure systems and patients are allowed to remove their masks while running and breathing heavy during image acquisition.
Have you had good / bad experience with lack of Covid testing before stresses?

Starting an IVF cycle shortly; and feeling very anxious. My period, which is usually within 25-28 days hasn’t started yet. It is 14 days late (and no, I am not pregnant :). My doctor had me patching 4 estrogen patches everyday for 10 days.
Has anyone else gone through this? Delayed period because of IVF stress? Or delayed period because of estrogen patches?
I don’t know what to make of all of this. Any help/ guidance would be great!

Hello: I've had cats and just took my 12 year old cat for his 6 month check up. We have been watching his thyroid levels which are a little elevated but this time his calcium is elevated. Everything else is normal and vet wants abdominal ultrasound to see for cancer. Has anyone had this? Left message for vet to discuss... obviously upset. Cat looked good on clinical exam...... thoughts or input please?

What should the reaction be if the vaccines end up only being reasonably effective. Say we end up with a going forward rate of 100,000 dead per year. Or 50,000. Is there a point at which you say you were willing to take the risk and move back to a normal life (gatherings, restaurants, travel, etc.)? Recognizing they lockdowns can temporarily reduce counts, but not eliminate the disease.
