Scenario: baby coming in January and have an offer to lateral. Current firm gives 12 weeks of parental leave. New firm wants decision by next week. Would like to give a few weeks notice to current firm about leaving but need the entire parental leave. Parental leave can be taken at either firm but importantly, need the full time off and not work at all. What to do and when to do it (ie provide notices etc.). Thanks!

I’m currently at a boutique agency where it’s just me and my boss doing RM for about 200+ people. I have been there for almost a year and have implemented some new processes that are starting to help streamline the process. I currently make $85K. Is this an appropriate salary for my level? Do I give notice before I get the written offer/background check so I can leave before holidays but risk offboarding during vacation or give notice my first day back?
