Trying to figure out holidays with extended family. My husband and I have young kids on the east coast. His sister and her husband live on the opposite coast. We have lived in the same city as my in-laws for the last 10 years, so it always made sense for my sister-in-law to fly back here to visit. Now in-laws are in Chicago. Does it make sense to ask everyone to come to us for holidays given that we have young kids and limited vacation time? Is that fair?

May the love of this Holiday season brings you all health, rejuvenation, peace, joy and alerted eyes to the return of the Messiah! John 8:32 KJV And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Just got an email that my bonus would be docked by $50 per day per occurrence for not logging in my time entries to be equal to 7 hours. WTF. I hate this shit. What do you all do when you bill 12 hours one day and 4 hours the next day? No chance in hell I’m logging 3 hours of vacation time for the difference! Also, fuck you timesheets.
My husbands mom lives with us and we usually get along fine, but today I am over it. WFH means being with her 24/7 and after the holiday's I am just done. I wish it was just the 2 of us again. Can I force his sister to take her? I want my house back, but I also don't want to be the crabby wife.
Anyone here in Seoul? I'm heading over in less than a week for a holiday by myself and would like to make some new friends!
EY 🐠 - potentially starting with the firm soon, and my partner is due to have our first in April. Given the 1 year service requirement for leave, would I have the option to take PTO during birth and use parental leave after my 1 year of service? Appreciate any guidance here
Hi, so I’ve been working as a (TCP temporary creative professional) while one of the agency’s employees was on leave. I understood it to be a FT position, clocking in, etc but last week a bunch of employees were on vacation and I didn’t get projects. My work from the week before was all approved, so I had no edits. I asked for work, reached out, etc but ended up with very few billable hours, which annoyed the bosses. Now I’m not sure how to proceed. Do I NGAF, clock in? Or wait for work?
Amicably resigning from my current position as intake coordinator at a private practice and the owner of the practice (also my boss) refuses to pay me my remaining PTO. What should I do? (In Illinois)
Did everyone take a day or two off to celebrate the holiday? Does anyone feel pressure to work on the holidays? It seems like major meetings get schedules with no thought about the high holidays
Just saw a job for a product designer that include incentive pay, phrased as “vacation and incentive pay” Any ideas? I’m not sure what it would be.
I’m currently in the early process of interviewing with Airbnb (base pay ~100k. Regular Analyst role) but just got an offer from an early stage startup (base pay ~120k. Manager role). They want me to decide by tomorrow but my hiring manager interview with Airbnb is Monday (interviewer wasnt available this week). What should I do? What would you consider when deciding between startup or an established company like Airbnb? (Both roles are fully remote, similar paid time offs policy)
I'll start - How much do benefits factor into your job search and deciding on an offer? For me, the vacation is critical, and it reflects the extent of the agency's culture of trust.
Just over a year post BL. Still a lawyer but more balanced. Still crazy to me how all those weird things about corporate BL are actually not inescapable realities of practice, e.g. not having free time on weekday evenings, work email notifications, having to take my laptop on vacation, caveating accepting a birthday party invitation by saying "if nothing comes up". The happiest surprise: work is still intellectually challenging because of the randomness of being an in-house generalist.
Best family vacation destination you've been to in the past year or two? Something covid-friendly but that will appeal to my wife and kids [son, 22 and daughter, 18] thanks!
“Didn’t you just come back from PTO?" Make it thru Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur... now just Sukkos twice and we’re clear for 2019! Happy holidays all!
I have heard that there have been cis-gender straight people pretending to be LGBTQ in order to get a diversity hire slot at major consulting firms (including mine). Anyone else encountered an issue with this?

How is Oracle Functional role at Deloitte USI ?
I accepted an offer 4 months ago at a tech company. I asked for a very low salary at the time since I didn’t know the market in such a niche sector (VR) and now im getting new potential offers every week on LinkedIn that pay 30-90% more than my current salary. None of those offers are official yet but I’m thinking if I should still ask for a salary increase in my current job, since I feel used for asking a low salary at the time. I haven’t performed yet because of the company structure though

Hey everyone, I promise not to hound anyone! I’m a Houston recruiter. Focus on associates in TX only. Law firm side - not in house. I have Big Law openings in real estate, M&A ( public and PE) with large signing bonuses, finance (rare opening with NYC firm in Houston), project development and exec comp. Open to relocation candidates. Check me out on LinkedIn as I post a ton. Would love to set up a call.
How much does brand matter in tech (e.g., FAANG) for exits and career growth/learning vs a smaller well known tech company (e.g., YEXT)? Assume strategy/ops role. Is it like MBB vs other?

I am currently working with a few 401k plans as their advisor on various platforms. If I end up going to an RIA, how do I handle this business?
anyone else think it's a load of bull that Accenture has what thy call a Consulting Development Program, which entails very little development? 95% of the "program" is made of happy hours.
Fairly certain that I just had a career first. I managed to keep up with and use a legal pad all the way to completion. Pretty sure that should unlock some sort of bonus points or prize or something.
Does anyone know of people who went from consulting to sports business? I have 1.5 YOE as an Associate out of undergrad and I'm looking to make a change soon. Working in sports (NBA ideally) has always been my dream and trying to see a path to get there
Freelancers: any of you go out on your own in hopes of getting interesting work, but then end up temping doing terrible production work? No? Just me then. Ok.
Hi Fishes, I got offer from both Accenture (11.8 LPA), HCL (13.05 LPA) and Infosys (14 LPA). Which can I choose considering professional growth? Please elaborate your answer. I am really confused. Talk in terms of 3 parameters Culture, Yearly hike % and Onsite opportunities.
I usually don't get things the first time they're shown to me. I learn by repetition. Complicated processes have to be pounded into my head. Am I screwed in consulting? Is anyone else like this?
Financial Planner / Advisor recommendations? I’m new to Chicago. I grew up poor, the only person who n my family to ever go to college, my parents never owned a home. I am unprepared for how to break this chain, and take the next step in financial security. Any suggestions on people/firms to look at would be appreciated.
