Publicis Health. Pros and Cons? Would love not to be in health but keeping my options open.

CM1: Healthcare doesn’t actually pay all that well; I made more in general advertising than I make in healthcare now. And you can actually do life-changing and Cannes-winning work if you have the talent. If you’re not in healthcare, you don’t see all the truly amazing things we make. I thought the same way you do, all the years I worked in general. It’s a different set of challenges, but great work can be done.

Oh and the heath stuff that wins awards is extremely rare. Again speaking from experience.

Depending on the agency, Publicis Health has some great opportunities for “general” advertising—lots of P&G work, animal health and well recognized DTC drugs. The pay and work/life balance is pretty good at most agencies. Langland, Digitas Health, SSW 👍🏻 Heartbeat, Razorfish Health 👎🏻 The network is smaller than you think, so if you’re a star, you’ll be rewarded. My experience at least.

I hear healthcare agencies pay a lot. But the creative output is pretty awful. Clients want boring work that sells. Your book would suffer

This is just one person's experience, but I didn't get paid any more than I did elsewhere when I worked in pharma. And yeah the creative is pretty sub-par on average I would say. there is some opportunity out there for good work sure, but I didn't get to touch any of it. It was all conservative and uninspiring and that seemed to be the norm for most clients

Salaries in healthcare are leveling off as more people from general, who were axed, are glutting the market. Unless you have serious experience, you may not be impressed with the money

Post this on the Pharma board, might get better response from peeps who actually work in the field

Cancerous (pun intended) and filled with out of date folks just putting in time to retirement. Little innovation or strategic opportunity. Beware of promises. They love promising folks the moon and then turn on them when they can’t deliver the promised opportunities. Next to no respect or loyalty for anyone but the ‘in crowd’ at pub health.

Client wants me to pack lunch to prevent breaks, including Mondays. So I transport it 780mi OR grab Dunkin’ Donuts (only thing open) on 9:30AM drive from airport to site & hope it microwaves well.
