Got an offer from a different firm for 25% more. I am the only resource on my project workstream that can produce a lot of afterwork as well. Is it possible to negotiate bump (not the whole 25% obv)?
Been flying to client for the last month and I have had a enough. Going to put in my two weeks. Hopefully don’t have to fly to the client site again. How bad of a look is this? Extremely toxic environment as both internal firm politics and client politics are in play here and I’m basically the last member of the engagement team that hasn’t been replaced left.
Can anyone tell me if Marcum drug tests experienced hires? Also, are client drug tests mandatory or “optional”?
What do you do when a client makes a friend request to your fb page?? I hesitate confirming, unless they were friends prior to becoming clients. I keep a boundary.
Anyone else feel insecure when the junior resource on your project is performing top notch, gets a lot of PPD visibility. I know I shouldn’t feel this way and support their career but somehow getting anxious over it. Any tips / guidance?
Director small client to VP flagship client, internal move after less than a year. Going from leading a team of 4 to one of 20. What’s a reasonable ask as a percentage salary bump?
What excuse do you give on a project when you need to sneak off to a b-school interview and don't want anyone at firm to know
You cannot tie WLB to the company. It is project dependent! A big company will always have projects with both good WLB and bad, but I think it’s never tied to the company. Agree or disagree?
My intern was assigned the role of “strategist” on an intern-project and they asked me “Wait, so I just have think about stuff, I don’t actually have to DO anything??”
Laid off after many, many years spent on agency side. What would you do next? Consulting? Client side? Build new agency? What does the future of advertising and marketing look like?
Been here 6 months and keep getting placed on the same client since I started. (Projects are fairly short) Haven't had a chance to network to find other projects. This sucks 😩
I have ptsd from a terrible accident where two people died. I nearly died myself. Every time one of you says you got ptsd from a difficult project or bad client, I want to scream.
How can you support moody, passive-aggressive clients and not let it impact your mental health? I understand that managing the relationship is largely our job in account servicing, but the stress and anxiety is taking its toll on me. Honestly feels like being in an abusive/toxic relationship. And yes, senior management and leadership are aware of this attitude and supportive wherever possible, but can only do so much. Help!
Question for Deloitte moms. I am 20 week pregnant and haven’t told my project leadership yet . Do you guys think I should wait till compensation is out or can I tell them? Also what is considered too late to tell the leadership?
My manager is incapable of admitting when he’s wrong, to the point where he’s let me use the wrong formulas on client work because he couldn’t bring himself to admit he’d given me the wrong formula.
New hire here! I need fashion advice for my first day at the client lol. Backpack or tote?
How to deal with a condescending client? One on one they act nice, but constantly try to belittle me and my knowledge for no reason.

How often are critical roles at your company vacant? I’ve been at my current company for >4 years, and I was reflecting on how we seem to constantly be under-staffed. Every time someone leaves, we treat it as temporary that everyone else will need to stretch themselves and pick up the slack, and eventually we do fill that role, but then someone else leaves shortly afterwards, and we are back to being stretched again. It’s super tiring, and I wonder how normal it is.
Do you take interviews if recruiters say your comp requirements are “a bit out of range, but we could get approved for more?”

I have a closet full of dresses and a black pantsuit, all appropriate, but some are several years old or dont fit perfectly. Since y’all are far more fashionable than I am , what looks would you suggest? I’m 52.
SPG platinum. Checking out of Westin a day early within their checkout time for the day. Clerk says SPG policy is to charge an early departure fee of an additional night’s stay. I smell horseshit.

Can we stop salary shaming (lol but really)? This should be an objective comparison thread. Not a “well I mean that’s still a lot so just be thankful” thread. Stop hating. Stay informative.
